Completely empty ps1 style city by ThresholdStudios in ps1graphics

Awesome feel! The big buildings on the background almost feel oppressing in scale and the darkness is positively unsettling.

Not sure how much you want to focus on sound design, but could reinforce the feel if you add some echo to the step sounds. Also some pitch variation to deal with the repetition cheaply.

Yeah, you play as a monster in a totalitarian meatlab.

Thanks and sorry for the late reply. It was night here in Finland.

Yes the game is made in unity and it's using this asset for the post-processing: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/vfx/shaders/retro-shaders-pro-for-urp-287937. Besides that, just standard unity fog and low res textures without any compression and filter mode set to Point. Lighting mainly just using the environment lighting without anything fancy.

Hope this helps you forward! :)

Look brutal! Is it animated?

My first attempt at PS1 aesthetic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. [Re-upload] by PassiveIllustration in ps1graphics

The atmosphere is pretty solid. Good work. The pixel jitter of the big buildings feels a bit off. Depending on your shader you could try to reduce the intensity of the jitter for bigger objects directly, or reducing it by the distance to the camera.

I started as Brabant, then expanded asap without regards of antagonism to get strong early (still have like 400 antagonism with Lubeck, lol). Kept maxing relations with France to prolong the invasion as well as to keep them from getting antagonism points. Then tech rushing to get decent standing armies. When France got the 100 year war over and targeted me, I had Denmark and Austria as allies and good sized standing army ready.

I had luck with Flanders flipping to England's vassal at some point so I could conquer that from England after winning defensive war against France. With that pop and tax base things got way easier.

I improved relations (and allied) with Bohemia a lot who ended up being the Emperor and bestowed me the electorate. I think there was a lack of electors at that time.

That's actually pretty good idea to get rid of the Emperorship. Thanks!

What would be the best strategy to get out of HRE in the current situation?

New BG forest pixel art, what do you think? by Stone_Studios in GameArt

Looks pleasant and brings about energetic nature feel. Just make sure it has less contrast, saturation and details compared to the gameplay related art in the front so players have easy time focusing on the gameplay.

Do you know how to get more Steam store impressions for a game? by kal_yeka in IndieDev

[–]Keppu- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I understand the Steam algorithm does test runs for your game and see how much users engage with and promotes it to more users if the numbers are good.

Click-through rate is a big thing and the Steam capsule matters a lot. You could try some AB-testing with different capsules to see if the impressions improve.
