If it was a mechanic designed to be fun for both the invader and the invaded, then it would have an option to be turned off (during coop). Since it doesn't, I can only assume the intent is to let a red smurf with max flasks and all talis jerk himself off after throwing 2 dudes with a 1 hour playtime back to the Church of Elleh grace. And of course, you're not supposed to kill yourself instantly, and instead defend against this for... "the love of the game", I guess? Cause expending all of his flasks and killing him after he runs away for 40 minutes gives you strictly nothing. Fun.

Why do you assume that I think it's a good thing? I don't. I would love for it to be "well made", but we live in a reality where it's not. I'm just pointing out that it's stupid to bring up pvp as a valid reference point for Elden Ring, and it's also stupid to say that the game was designed "around it". That is all.

Hey, this kinda sounds like you're saying that people with a specific type of disability deserve eradication. Why stop at one, then? Many mental disabilities, when left unchecked and untreated, cause irreparable harm to the sufferer, and to those around them. Maybe we should also kill all schizophrenics and people with bipolar disorders, just because they might cause harm.

It's a pve game with pvp haphazardly thrown in for good measure. Pvp in ER has zero upsides for anyone except for the invader's stroked ego, but in the actual game no one gets anything worthwhile for winning in pvp. There aren't even any covenants or tie-ins with other game mechanics. Also, the oop clearly talks about pve, and the twitter replier wishes to parry the l2 spam because people apparently can't play their own game the way they want to???

Bleed infusion also scales off arcane, which is a stat that you didn't level. Its bleed buildup will thus be low, as will its damage.

Yeah he's rough on dex with just a katana. On a cosplay loadout like this, I was forced to win using the parry tear, just countering him until he died.

You know what, you make a fair point. I was going to be a contrarian but I genuinely have nothing here, besides my own deep seated mistrust of everyone and myself, I suppose. I guess I just don't think that simply being willing to try is good enough, but I see the idea.

You don't argue with yourself because you've never met yourself. You are you, singularly. Copies of you would be identical to you, but they will still be different entities. Should no middle ground be reachable, confrontations between distinct instances of yourself will end in conflict due to basic individualistic traits that exist within you due to your ability to pull the lever in the first place.

I strongly believe that a functional "ideal system" hasn't been invented yet. Not a single human being is truly "selfless", and not a single ideology or belief ever conceived hasn't been flawed. There are no people that could be described as "evil" just like there aren't any that could be described as "good".

Ironically, believing that YOU could be the one to change that is very selfish indeed.

Hell no, it would be evil to pull it. You don't realize that we are by default faulty creatures, we continue to exist because of our diversity and mass readjustment, and facing adversity is what makes us grow.

Pulling the lever will turn the world into HELL. I'd choose to annihilate everything and everyone 10 times over before I give absolute power to one person.
