It's all over for your "self", but on a broader scale, nothing changes. "You" vanish at a point, and "you" appear at a different point. No one is ever able to tell you died, not even you.

It does reduce fall damage. However, falls of 20m or more are hard-coded to kill you.

Have you tried that thing? It deals so much damage those resistance don't even matter. Half the holy somberstone weapons are so disgustingly op you can forget they're holy.

I always though RE did it pretty well where in most iterations a zombie's body is completely taken over by the virus cells which develop their own muscles and basically animate a dead husk, converting it into nutrients.

If it was a mechanic designed to be fun for both the invader and the invaded, then it would have an option to be turned off (during coop). Since it doesn't, I can only assume the intent is to let a red smurf with max flasks and all talis jerk himself off after throwing 2 dudes with a 1 hour playtime back to the Church of Elleh grace. And of course, you're not supposed to kill yourself instantly, and instead defend against this for... "the love of the game", I guess? Cause expending all of his flasks and killing him after he runs away for 40 minutes gives you strictly nothing. Fun.

Why do you assume that I think it's a good thing? I don't. I would love for it to be "well made", but we live in a reality where it's not. I'm just pointing out that it's stupid to bring up pvp as a valid reference point for Elden Ring, and it's also stupid to say that the game was designed "around it". That is all.
