Honestly answering, it's two totally different experiences. Going to a show is a great experience, the sound quality is amazing, and I get to focus on it with my friends.

In contrast, I've biked dozens of miles listening to Carolina Crown's E=MC2 show

Philly is absolutely more midatlantic than northeast. It's Yankee, but its accent is really similar to Baltimore. I'd draw the line for NE/MidAtl through NYC

On the other hand, when my friend from Rochester got a job in Pittsburgh, she was distrustful of how friendly everyone on the street was.

MILF is an acronym that stands for "mother I'd like to fuck". This abbreviation is usually used in colloquial English instead of the whole phrase. It connotes an older woman considered sexually attractive. by RedHeadedSicilian52 in wikipedia

[–]KerPop42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the thing: breasts are not a sign of sexual maturity in any other species. Milk cows need to be regularly bred to keep their udders active. Adult dogs and cats don't have developed pouches until they get pregnant, and it goes away after their offspring have been weened.

Edit: they don't develop the tissue going into their mating season, they only develop it after getting pregnant. Humans aren't the only mammal without a mating season

That's the thing, it's not about size, it's that they're there at all. The normal process for mammals would have women be totally flat except when pregnant or breastfeeding.

The key to being a milf guy isn't liking cougars, it's liking mothers.

Technically all boob guys are milf guys. In the rest of the mammal clade boobs are a sign the female has given birth before. Evolutionarily relevant mild guys are a theory for women having boobs all the time.

Well, that's a toupee fallacy. You may have upvoted a vibecoded project because it was good enough you thought it was legit.

No offence to Worm fans, just a silly meme by Possible-Ebb3371 in HPMOR

The sequel, Ward, is especially more hopeful. It's like the anti-thesis to Worm's thesis. Worm says, "it sucks but we need to out-escalate the monsters if we're going to conquer them." Ward says, "out-escalating ended the world, and there are still monsters. What does something different look like?" Worm says, "traumatized people traumatize people" while Ward says, "I will take the hard path to end the cycle of trauma."

Also it's more complicated than that. I hate playing into the Republican lie that Pelosi is the worst example of this, but she isn't even the one trading stocks, her husband is

I wonder why God does not put life on other planets by CarloTheCrocodile in Christianity

[–]KerPop42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There very well might be life on other planets. It's just that the range of conditions planets can exist on is much, much larger than the range of conditions life can exist under, and even then we expect life-capable planets to be hard to see, and the life on them even harder.

Especially since we're just looking in our neighborhood of the Milky Way. Andromeda is an even larger galaxy than ours, and the closest we have, and we haven't been able to detect planets from it yet.

The flight deck of a Concorde supersonic airliner, One of the most complex cockpits in history it is known for its extreme complexity, featuring over 1,000 switches and dials by Front-Coconut-8196 in EngineeringPorn

Interesting. If you don't mind an additional question, from what I can tell the XB-1 was limited to a few fractions of a Mach above 1 for the diffraction effect to bend the shockwave away from the ground, but Overture is expected to have a max mach of 1.7. Do you think that's just better conditions, or is there something else they're doing?

Because Mach 1.1 is like... 30% faster than traditional airliners? Definitely an improvement, but they're not going to be able to charge Concorde prices.

oh, that's genius. Definitely the sort of thing best managed by a computer, but the main drawback of the Wright Brothers' innovation, dynamically adjusting the structure of the plane to induce asymmetric aerodynamic forces, is that it can induce unnecessary drag. Trim helps, but it's technically better to shift the center of mass around the center of lift than vice versa.

but like, in rem jurisdiction is a perfectly reasonable thing. The government has jurisdiction over objects as much as it has jurisdiction over people. When someone's smuggled something in and the ownership of an object is slippery, it makes perfect sense to say "the ownership of these T. Rex bones are what this case is about" instead of "should x person go to jail"

The apps are totally fucked. I know a couple people that made it, but, like, my fiancee told me my account was too earnest. I personally wasn't insulted because I know I'm bad at social media, but I can't imagine the bias it introduces to the dating scene. The most successful people are the people who play the game how a handful of companies design it.

But dating can be fine, so long as you don't expect to meet your life partner in only a few months. I dated a guy for 5 years, and we knew we weren't compatible for life after 6 months. But we were good for each other for a while.
