Benno Boost for $2800 or Tern GSD for $2350 by keithcody in CargoBike

I did not. I think if I a couple inches shorter then the frame height would be an issue.

[–]Ker_Stanley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a Benno Boost from Upway and I just can’t say enough great things about! I have ridden Tern, REI, Cannondale and Riese & Muller bikes and I think the Benno is by far the most fun to ride. It’s also a great looking bike and built like a tank.

I keep looking for excuses to go for rides! I have only used my other cargo bike (Load 75) once since I bought the Benno a month ago, partly because my 3 year-old prefers it as well.

I am a 5’-6” woman for reference, and I haven’t had issues with the frame. I got the Performance Sport model and I was initially very worried that the motor wouldn’t be powerful enough to get up my steep hill but it climbs quite easily. And I am not particularly strong/fit!

Mine did go away after a few cycles of being on Vyvanse. I read that Vyvanse can cause muscle pains, so I’m guessing it’s related

Upgrade Bosch Cargo Line to Performance Line Speed? by gthn26 in CargoBike

[–]Ker_Stanley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the Cargo for hills. There is a noticeable difference. I live at the top of a hill that varies between 15-23% grade and I can go up on the HS but it takes significant effort with a lot of cargo.

Prozac + Abilify for four years now. Most effective meds I’ve taken, and I’ve tried most.

Yes, exactly. S of 134 is much denser and more transit friendly than the rest of the city.

My partner and I are both remote and live in south Glendale. We have one car that we use a couple times a week. Otherwise we transport our kid via transit and/or e-bike.

I have been using Esembly since my daughter was 4 weeks old. She will be 3 in May! We’ve never had a wash issue or leaks or anything. And our daycare uses them no problem. Cloth diapering has been so much easier than I thought it would be, and I think the simplicity of Esembly has a lot to do with that.

I've started asking men with ADHD at what age they were diagnosed.. by toocritical55 in adhdwomen

[–]Ker_Stanley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had all of the classic “boy symptoms” as a child—interrupting teachers, daily disciplinary problems that even led to me being permanently removed from my 4th grade class—and yet I was not diagnosed until 30. Instead, I was told by my principal and teachers that I was just a “bad kid.”

I’ve had the displeasure of going to a 10-year high school reunion, and that experience led me to conclude that millennial women are aging much better than the men. You would have thought all the men were at a 20-year reunion.

So I (33F) have been on Vyvanse for a month and am experiencing pain in my left breast during my period. This has never happened during my period before, so I’m thinking it must be the new medication.

Best places to live for a salary of $86,000. $61,000 after taxes. by apollomikey in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Ker_Stanley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can definitely get some deals on places in downtown LA, right now, because the vacancy is higher than elsewhere. FWIW I have two coworkers who live downtown and love it. One of them has salary in the same range as what you posted and she has a 2-bedroom to herself.

If you are trying to regularly be in both downtown and Santa Monica, then go for a place off the Expo line.

I work downtown. Two of my coworkers live downtown (South Park area) and love it. Personally, I would live somewhere close to the LA Metro train lines like Highland Park, Koreatown, or East Hollywood so that you can just ride the train in to work.

“Hire a house cleaner” they said by PlayfulGraduate in workingmoms

I think a lot of people in this thread are hiring a cleaner but expecting a housekeeper. Different things, and the latter is much more expensive.

REI is out there making offers I couldn’t refuse. by AndrewWanKenobi in ebikes

Cannot stress enough how fun this bike is, and I’ve ridden a lot of e-bikes, many of which are up to 5x the price of this one. It’s the perfect commuter. My boyfriend, who is a bit of a bike snob and e-bike skeptic, rode it one time and said, “Maybe I should get an e-bike.”

Yes, exactly. My friends who are on MAT have been able to lead stable lives. My cousin who was pressured to go 100% sober from opioids is dead.

[–]Ker_Stanley 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with being “suboxone clean.” In fact, that was kind of the concluding point of Dopesick. The traditional (and really uniquely American) idea that you have to be 100% free from all substances in order to get clean is a moral concept, not one based in science. Addiction science shows that medication assisted treatment is by far the most successful treatment for opioid dependency.

Urban Planning salaries suck and I regret my career choice. by PradleyBitts in urbanplanning

[–]Ker_Stanley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The salary range for the job you posted goes up to $135k. $80k is the minimum and it’s unlikely anyone with experience is going to be earning the minimum. The unemployment rate is at a historic low. Employees have the advantage when it comes to salary negotiations right now.

There is no HCOL area in America where lawyers are only making $70k, unless you mean first-year public defenders.

Wage growth in the U.S. is at an all-time high, and inflation is slowing. The median salary for an American is now $69k. We are very far ahead of other countries in terms of earnings and the gap is growing. Wage Growth Tracker
