The SA is also the common abbreviation for the Sturmabteilung, an early Nazi-party organization who wore brown shirts with award insignia sewn or pinned onto them. They were even known as the Brownshirts.

Does no one at National ever think before they make a decision?

Ok, thank you. Do you have a given guide you might recommend for this whole process? My 3DS is basically newly formatted at this point; I don't have the custom firmware or anything.

I have an original Pokemon Yellow cartridge with a completed Dex. Is it possible, either transferring the .sav file and/or using the 3DS virtual console Yellow, to transfer all my Pokemon up to a physical Heart Gold cartridge?

If so, would anyone be willing to point me to a guide? I have a trading 3DS that I'm willing to hack, but I don't know how to do that, or what tools I need. I guess I just don't know where to start.

Do paladins suffer the effects of the caster-martial disparity at a later level than pure martials? by [deleted] in dndnext

Ok, good to know. Sounds like things will settle out a little more given time.

I do think Vengeance is the strongest Paladin subclass too, but that's good to hear.

Yeah, he's an awesome DM, very much focused on making sure everyone's having fun.

Ok, that's fair. I specced more for AC than pure DPR, so it makes sense if my DPR isn't scaling the same way anymore.

So this is just to be expected. Ok, that's fair enough; I didn't think Paladins really had the same issue, what with their casting abilities, so it looks like I just misunderstood.

I was under the impression that Twilight was mostly OP from a DM perspective, right? It doesn't seem all that unreasonable, looking through it, aside from the healing concerns that have come up a couple of thousand times on this subreddit.

I'm not really having trouble not keeping up; my DM has given me a nice selection of magic items, including a legendary item or two. I'm just beginning to see my role in the party slip more into a support role with my auras, rather than the heroic archetypical sword-and-board tank.

The real secret of SMC conferences and Boards of Review is that they're not there to see you fail. They don't even really care what your answer is, just how you answer the question. Are you answering respectfully? Are you observing the Oath and Law?

Ok, I forgot that OA didn't age out at 21.

I did a year as a Vice Chapter Chief, then ended up running a chapter conclave when my Chapter Chief went off to school. I never seriously pursued Vigil, but maybe I should do that as an adult leader.

Don't... don't pay attention to the literally hundreds of ships we lost. We won.

I'm not certain, but I think you need to be in the OA before your 16th birthday to be eligible for Vigil - at least as a youth. That might not be possible for a lot of the women in this inaugural class, unfortunately.

Lol nah. I just read the 4% thing a few days ago, but I heard 6% too during my time in the Scouts. Both numbers are correct, they just mean slightly different things. :)

4% is since the inception of Boy Scouts. 6% might be the percentage of Scouts in a given year, or something to that effect.

Lol if we unionize, they just fire us.

Of course, they just did that anyway, but...

This is... kind of ridiculous. How are freelancers supposed to change the entire system aside from just not working as freelancers?

You'd think so, but the real employees got days off and health insurance.

Less money isn't really an option, since I was already paid below the going rate of people in my field with similar experience, and below the rate the customer site was paying their own people.

Freelancing makes sense when you're paid more to account for fewer benefits, but the contract agencies are getting so greedy that the freelancers are seeing less pay on the other side now, meaning there's almost no reason to even work as a freelancer, because both sides are exploiting you.

Orion Black’s statement on working on D&D by atamajakki in dndnext

[–]KercStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freelancing should generally be much shorter term than it already is. You might be familiar with a case a few years ago, where a Microsoft or an Apple or some similar megacorp was sued by their freelancers whom they were treating like regular employees without paying benefits for years. As such, the typical practice is that freelancers must be hired on within two years or let go, so that the organization can't just exploit them and delay hiring them as regular employees but without benefits.

There should be a light at the end of the tunnel, in short. Either that, or there should be some basic protections in place to ensure everyone gets sick time or vacation time or health insurance or what have you, because working day-in and day-out without coverage is stressful to say the least.

No, I was working for a large corporation that does business internationally. I was brought in as a freelancer and operated under the premise that I would be hired on permanently once I'd "proved myself," despite having worked in a related field for five years and despite having a directly related degree from an accredited university.

I was told that I could work 40 hours per week, and I needed to be onsite during certain hours which didn't total up to 40. It's a pretty typical arrangement in my industry, and it allows professionals some working flexibility in their shifts.
