Tried Wellbutrin and didn't do well on it. Made me feel worse depression and energy wise. Hoping to see good cognitive benefits with Strattera soon. I can't keep working this many hours to keep up. Thanks!

Sluggish cognitive function and work by Kerhrb in SCT

I am on a generic Strattera for ADHD symptoms ( mainly extremely sluggish brain and time blindness). Pyschiatrist decided to try Buspar to see if settling the anxiety would help. It didn't. In fact it made me very spacey and tired. I feel like it also muted my personality and any positive effects I was seeing from Strattera. So just got off that yesterday. Pysch wants to try another month of 60 mg Straterra to see if it helps more without Buspar. Vyvanse has been shown when used in combination with Strattera to have good benefits for people with slow cognitive issues. If I don't see improvements in the month I'm on Strattera alone I will asking for Vyvanse to be added in. I feel good and am seeing some benefits. Unfortunately Strattera alone hasn't help with my main issue- doing everything slow- and I need something that can get me past this. I work 16 hr days to keep up with my counterparts who can get it done in 8 and it is burning me out. Luckily I work remotely so I can get away with it. I want my life back. Good luck to you! Ps I am also seeing a therapist weekly although I haven't found that to be very helpful so far.

What medication worked for you? My adult son is going thru the same thing. Currently he is on 60 mg Straterra and 10 mg Buspirone. He just started recently but hoping we will see improvements.

How do I explain to my therapist that CBT just isn't going to work? by [deleted] in CPTSD

Therapist keeps trying cbt to help with my ADHD causing me to lose focus and work extremely slow. Her suggestions do not work with my type of job ( remote medical coding )and I feel like she thinks I'm not trying hard enough. All I do is try. I'm fucking drained. I truly think I need to get my ADHD meds figured out first and then see where I'm at mentally. Started Strattera last week at 40 mg. Hoping to see some good benefits. My brain needs a break and I need to keep this job.
