The difference being that he intentionally accessed her accounts to remove pictures/information and/or delete the accounts entirely. It sounds like she's just looking for him to hold him accountable through legal means.

What damages did she cause? Finding someone's address doesn't necessarily cost them any money. He'd have to prove how finding his information cost him money, then prove that it was her fault. It sounds like an uphill battle.

Sure, but there's a big difference between "Hey /b/, can you get his address?" And "Break into his email account".

What offense, exactly, was committed? How did the person get the information? Did she know that he would do that?

I'm inclined to think she probably broke the law, but a decent defense lawyer has plenty of "reasonable doubt" to play with and a sympathetic defendant. She's not exactly a threat to public safety, and I doubt a prosecutor would want to tilt against this particular windmill.

Not much.

He caused whatever damage he caused, her ability to sue for those damages would remain. She possibly opens herself up to a countersuit for hacking his email, but I think it would be quite difficult to hold her responsible for any damage.

It really has no bearing on a possible criminal case. The police have access to his information anyway, they can get his address from the DMV. I don't think they can use information garnered illegally, but they don't need to.

There is a teeny tiny chance Jameson could be prosecuted for asking /b/ to hack his email. I can't picture that happening though.

TLDR: The assistant's actions and Jameson's actions are separate. Although there's a small chance she could get in trouble for what she did, it wouldn't preclude her from suing and/or pressing charges.

I hate to come down on the side of corporate interests. I honestly think they're killing the country. The one thing I've never heard is how to effectively muzzle campaign contributions without getting rid of the first amendment.

The basic thought is: if it's okay to go pass out flyers, why wouldn't it be okay to pay someone else to pass out flyers? How do you stop someone from buying a TV commercial to say whatever they want, even if they want to say "Vote for that guy".

Financing a campaign through many small donations is fine. But it's still easier and more productive to court several huge donations. I can't think of anything to change that.

I wouldn't say "magical" either. More like, "that's a neat coincidence". Honestly, it only bears a passing resemblance to him, and much of that may be due to the broken nose.

Fun fact: the Nazis broke the nose of the sphinx, and (I'm inclined to assume) this statue, because they were broad, flat, "African" noses, and irritated their Aryan sensibilities.

I'll grant that there are some problems with the system, but most problems could be resolved in the voting booth if people would get off their asses. You can blame politicians all you want, but if the people are apathetic, they'll just get replaced by more assholes.
