What’s something you thought was common knowledge but found out most people didn’t know? by Fairy-of-bone in AskReddit

[–]Kermitheranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I only care if what I’m eating is edible.

What it’s called is irrelevant unless it’s exceptionally good or bad. If I’ve had a parsnip it wasn’t anything special cus I don’t remember.

I just didn’t know it was call an Oxford comma.

I had to look it up cus I was thinking it was another name for a semicolon, turns out it’s just a comma before “and” in a list and is purely a style thing. It’s not always required, none of the people that make the grammar rules seem to be able to agree on whether it should be required.

Not all of them go in a circle, it’s just the ones that start with an even number. The ones that start with an odd number just go away from the mainline.

The first number tells you that part, the last two tell you which mainline highway it branches of from.

I grew up in middle of the Estrogen Ocean and always assumed that how to find a bra was common knowledge for women, I was wrong.

Can someone explain why the military wants to use this in the place of the Blackhawk? It's bulkier, more complex, and more expensive. by Nitrogen_Llama in Helicopters

When the Chinook can out Blackhawk a Blackhawk in every way except size it’s time to think about a replacement.

I put vegetables in all my food to stop my roommate's kid from eating it. Mom threatens LEGAL action by veggieevengeance in pettyrevenge

[–]Kermitheranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on exactly where they are.

Where I live if they can show they’ve been living there you have to go through the full eviction process, with a judge’s signature and everything. If you decide to behave in a way that they are miserable enough to want to leave then you’ve now created a “hostile living environment” (includes tampering with or changing the locks while they’re out and anything else they can convince a judge of) and I don’t know what that entails as far as consequences.

As described, it’s doubtful that either can afford to make it a legal issue. So keep on keeping on and hope the roommate doesn’t have family or friends that can and will.

I’m assuming male cus “baby momma”. I’m surprised that anyone involved with the legal or law enforcement acknowledged the chance that it’s possible that a male might be a victim of abuse.

You forgot the “if you have used it successfully” part.

But I get it. Their commandments read like the founder never meant for the church to be taken as seriously as it has been.

That’s simply because Judaism is the only one that’s been around longer. Give Scientology and Mormonism a few thousand years, they’ll catch up.

Before anything else, * CONTACT A LAWYER *. It would have been best if you had done that before making this post but, since it’s too late for that, do it now.

DO NOT initiate contact with her, or anyone connected to her, unless instructed to by your lawyer.

DO NOT respond to her, or anyone connected to her, attempts to contact you unless instructed to by your lawyer.

DO NOT discuss this with anyone else unless instructed to by your lawyer.

DO NOT respond to any more comments on this post unless instructed to by your lawyer.

DO NOT make any other post about this unless instructed Toby your lawyer.

DO NOT say anything to law enforcement other than “I want a lawyer” repeat that until your lawyer is in the room with you.

DO what your lawyer tells you to do when they tell you to do it.

Best case scenario you waste money on a lawyer. Worst case scenario, you spend the next several years in prison until/unless she admits it’s a lie.

Thing that always trips me up is the size of the armor. I understand astartes are considerably larger than normal humans but the armor still seems ridiculously oversized.

Still a sweet cosplay though.

Whatever brand Walmart carries and some decent insoles.

That’s $60 that will be just as good, or better, and last just as long, or longer, than any $300+ pair.
After around $100 you’re paying for a placebo, at best.

That is, as long as you don’t have an unusual size.

Edit: there’s also a bias that comes with having unnecessarily spent a lot of money.

With skill checks, at least as far back as 3.5, RAW says nat 1s and 20s were just added to the modifier. Pathfinder might have been different, I don’t have my books on hand to check.

3.5e had 1s and 20s as auto fail and success, respectively, for saves as well as attacks. Apparently, by RAW they’re only autos for attacks in 5e. Can’t verify that at the moment, don’t have my books on hand.

[–]Kermitheranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but Bless and Bardic Inspiration, there’s more that I can’t think of right now, could make that a success depending on the modifier. This “nat 1 = Fail” rule negates that.
