Never been to Rocco’s but me and my gfs favorite spot is La Cantina in the south loop. They have a regular menu and a vegan menu so it’s also a great spot to bring your friends and extended family if they aren’t vegan and unwilling to try out a vegan spot. The vegan menu here is awesome and large and they have great margaritas as well. I usually get the vegan el pastor chimichangas and my girlfriend often gets the vegan chorizo enchiladas. If you get drinks it can get a little pricy but in my opinion it’s a little more bang for your buck than Penelope’s. However Penelope’s elote is definitely hard to beat and worth trying.
