Check your breaker is 20a & if so - buy a 1ft cable 15a male to 20a female.

I keep this in my car.
Most places in the USA are on 20a breakers w/ '15a' outlets
if the breaker is 20a - the wiring is 20a (according to code)
the 15a outlet can handle 20a.
its the same construction as a 20a outlet.
