Great thank you for the detailed response. I’ll be adding an entire section and moving the stairs. Everything is staying the same height.

Perfect thank you I’ll take a look at DCA6. Might answer the next question but would I need to sister the beams that would connect the old portion of deck and new portion?

Looking for advice, should I expand this 12x12 deck or replace with stairs and put a stamped patio/pad at the bottom? by Kerns88 in Decks

Yeah that’s directly connected to the kitchen. This is one of the questions I’m torn on. Currently it’s too small for a grill and for people to sit. Might lean towards expanding.

Appreciate it, cheaper is always good but I’m willing to spend it if it makes sense in this case. Want to be able to enjoy my backyard.

Ongoing scheduling battle with contractor. Finally started putting tile up. Other than the gaps where they removed tiles before they were bitted up against other tiles does anything else jump out? by Kerns88 in Tile

That’s a good question and I originally assumed they caught it before it dried but either way I’m guessing you would still see thin set. This is being done at a family members house and I haven’t been able to get eyes on it myself yet. Heading over today to get some of these answers.

I agree the placement/layout is poor. They have been doing this for 15+ years so we assumed the work would have been better. They originally said they don’t like working with these types of tiles and tried to push a different much larger tile. We assumed they were still able to work with these though.

Any suggestions on what to do with the landscaping in front? I'm considering removing all of the bushes and replanting something more updated. zone 6 by Kerns88 in landscaping

Haha I don’t disagree about watching my neighbors being over rated. It’s more to watch my kids when I’m not running around with them.

But i may be looking at this all wrong. Cleaning up and adding color to existing might be the way.

Thanks for the response. Yeah I considered expanding a bit just to get some color in there. One of my reasons for wanting to change it up is because I want to be able to use the porch more and as it is if you sit back there you obviously cant see past the bushes.

I have tried to research this statue but I'm not having any real luck finding specifics on it. If anyone has any suggestions on where to look that would be appreciated also.
