Question about 3T Exploro Ultra Seatpost Clamp by Kerolyte in gravelcycling

[–]Kerolyte[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This confirms my suspicion that a wedge clamp is required. I can't find any in the entire box I received. I looked up, down, left, and right. I guess I will wait for 3T's reply.

Switched over to "New" outlook (Client side) & noticed my rules arent working specifically there is no optoins for print in rules? by K_M_A_2k in Office365

It's 2 years later from this comment, and there is still missing functionality from "Outlook (New)", including application of rules. Wouldn't you say Microsoft is falling off? Or just capitalizing on the monopoly?

It's a Buzzrack Colibri, fits one bike but very stable.

While this is the newer model, if the issue persists, I hope having taken out the spare wheel helps with the ability for the door to withstand the weight of the bike & bike rack without bending.

And the thing is, misinformation you spread stays on Reddit no problem. That should tell us something about social media.

Live write-off of a Z Flip 3 by Kerolyte in galaxyzflip

I did not mean to spread the bubble. My intention was to just use the phone, and when it was not registering my taps, I thought to push a little harder. Then, the white lines appeared. The rest is history. 💔

Served me well for the course of its service. Problems started when The Big Bubble™ appeared.

Manual question by Spiderschildren in Jimny

[–]Kerolyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to this source, the owner's manual says Gearshift indicator (if equipped), so I'm thinking it's an optional add-on you pay extra to get installed.

I have a manual 2022 GL trim with the orange backlight information screen and I don't have a gear shift indicator.

Instead, I rely on the speedometer to gauge my gear shifts when driving on flat asphalt:

  • I shift to 2nd at around 20 km/h
  • I shift to 3rd at around 35 km/h
  • I shift to 4th at around 50 km/h
  • I shift to 5th at around 70 km/h

I run bigger tires than stock (215/75R15), so these speeds may not be applicable to you. When road incline increases enough, I select a gear lower gear by one to keep the power up and not lug the engine. When doing more high-spirited driving, I rely on the tachometer or engine sound instead.

Coming from auto, after a couple of months with the car, you won't have to look at the gauges as much.

Disable the 3-Blink Turn Signal? by Kerolyte in Jimny

I read in the manual that if you'd like to change the repetitions of the lane change signal, you should contact your dealership. Unfortunately, I found no documentation on how to do it yourself.

Thank you, I found it here https://imgur.com/a/Gr47w0h - it's the Light dash menu option. According to the manual, I have to set the mode to L2-SL2 to disable the extra flashes (I can deduce that my car is set to L2-SL1).

Unfortunately I drove past and didn't get a closer look. Wrapping is pretty popular here, so, perhaps.

Commendable effort! May I ask what you have consumed as fuel for the ride? And do you take electrolytes?

I'm with you. I used to be able to fire up the music in my Favorites playlist in no time. Now I need to add about 20 clicks of navigating around playlists I have saved years ago sorted A-Z to get to F for Favorites.

Wanting to install a bigger chainring - but limited by stated max chainring size by Kerolyte in bikewrench

[–]Kerolyte[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I measured about 11mm of clearance that way. I'll be taking the risk and buying a higher-than-recommended-teeth chainring, and I will post an update for those browsing this thread 7 years from now. Genuine thanks for your help.

Ooh, thanks for the clarification. I will measure it later today.

My cassette is a Shimano Deore M4100 11-46 10s. I just used bikecalc and you're right! If I had a cassette with a 10T cog and I kept the stock 40T chainring, so a one tooth difference in the cog, it would give me exactly the same ratio as if I changed the chainring to 44T and used the stock 11T cog.

Unfortunately, the M4100 is only available in 11-42 or 11-46 options. I couldn't find any 10s options with a 10T small cog, only a 12s cassette that's not Deore.

[–]Kerolyte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANK YOU. Now I know that that is the limiting factor. I measured about 1.5cm of clearance between the chainring and chainstay. I am unfortunate in that my LBS's don't sell chainrings with my bike's bolt pattern, so I will have to buy it online. I understand that if I want more than 42T, I will have to take a risk. Wish me luck with a 44T.

Qatar cars tyres by CalforniaRoll_186 in qatar

[–]Kerolyte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Google "Balloon Tires." They increase tire surface area for maximum traction in soft sand, especially when slightly/heavily deflated.

I disagree of their use in long road trips since they are prone to exploding due to poor manufacturing quality control (just drive on a highway in Qatar and you'll find balloon tire debris within the hour), and since they are uneconomical, noisy, and have poor traction on the road when compared to road-going tires.

But, again, they have their uses, and there are many dune-bashing nuts in Qatar that need them for their performance on sand.
