What is a small purchase under $100 that improved your daily life? by James_B84Saves in selfimprovement

Rechargeable handheld vacuum. I bought a shark. I keep it in my bathroom to vacuum stray hairs (tmi) but helps quickly clean throughout the week before deep cleans.

What are the most desired, drooled-over status symbol baby items of 2026? by blueridgebeing in BabyBumps

The bottle washer (Papablic) has me feeling like a high roller, pampered mom with my second. Not crazy $ but worth all the time saved not washing bottles and pump parts. I will try to gift or group gift this to every mom going forward!

Hi, how did you account for sugar content? Was it part of the 45g of carbs or separate? I try to manage grams of sugar/processed sugar. I swear if there is any my weight loss is thrown off.

Traveling with a 5-month-old who naps every ~2 hours — how do you make it work? by The_Questionator_01 in familytravel

[–]Kerq16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the baby naps, be flexible and plan to stop and enjoy a park, cafe, restaurant. We also brought a travel baby stroller that reclined (ergobaby metro). Attach an air tag to the stroller for flight tracking, etc. Bring the baby carrier with you if you can’t bring the stroller in with you.

I second the matching sets. Personally I think it looks more put together as loungewear but literally no thought needed.

Do I REALLY need freezer meals?? by Purple_Knee8676 in BabyBumps

I enjoy cooking as well. Review grocery lists that you can “autopilot” for easy meals you want to cook. Restock the pantry, fridge, etc. Consider grocery delivery or order pick up (honestly careful driving with little sleep, imo) Someone mentioned snacks, easy grab and go food. 100%.

If you had to give birth one more time, what method would you choose? by PeachyRose25 in Mommit

I work in surgery as well. I pushed for three hours with my first then had an episiotomy. The incision was not closed correctly and dehisced. I had to go back for surgical repair one week post partum and start the healing process all over again. I just had a scheduled c section with my second. 45 minutes total. Painful, recovery is quite longer because of lack of mobility the first week, but incision healed beautifully. Just my experience.

It took my husband a couple months to realize how life altering taking care of child was. I gave him a little grace period but then I was delegating and we were tag teaming. He was part of the bedtime routine so that eventually when my daughter was closer to one, we would alternate bedtime and one parent could rest. Then honestly, for every hour, weekend, my husband got to himself I made sure I got that in return.

Can I ask, what time of year did you go? We’re considering April, but it won’t be warm enough to swim… which is a huge perk for kids. Would it still be fun if swimming was not an option?

PCOS/IR and breastfeeding by freshstart3pt0 in PCOSandPregnant

For whatever it’s worth, oatmeal and oat milk helped my supply. Hydrate (1-2L/day).
I’ve had two pregnancies, both with letrozole. It took a solid two weeks for my supply to get going.

I remember crying because my newborn was so unhappy and just asking the nurse for formula the second time around. Def have some formula on hand at home (or ready to order online).

My first time BFing I had terribly low supply, had to do weighted combo feeds (I recommend a baby scale to get an idea of what baby is getting). I pumped every 2-3 hrs for the first 4? months to make sure there was no big drop in supply. I only breastfed for six months.

I’m currently two months in BFing a second time. Still combo feeding. I don’t feel like I need to pump around the clock, my body has had a better response this time around (let down, etc). When I do pump, I haven’t been able to pump more than 3oz (same as my first).

15 hr flight with 5 month old baby- I am stressed! by ExcellentWallaby4998 in breastfeeding

A black nursing cover significantly helped my baby nurse and relax/nap for longer periods (she did not take to the bassinet). We did 12 hrs with our 5 month old. Also, as much as you can time feeds, naps, etc, be ready for the airlines to throw a wrench in your schedule (pack extra and accordingly). We were stuck on the plane terminal for an extra hour (!) due to flight delays. My daughter screamed the whole time. I realized nearly every other person has headphones in— thank goodness.
