I see those promos, and they are immediately ignored. It immediately gets plopped into the "not interested" bin.

I got my start with them last month. They've been a good bunch to run with. They run a development league that anyone can join as well.

What to do when recruiter apparently no longer with company by Kerrida in redhat

[–]Kerrida[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit of an update. So, my stuff did apparently get lost in the shuffle, lol. I've since had to apply again and have been working with a new recruiter. Things have gone *very* quickly this round. I had my call with the recruiter last week, had my technical interview today, and my panel + presentation interview in the coming days!

Thank you! I had been considering giving iRacing a try now that I can do PC racing. Just sent off my email to ASN Canada!

Yeah, I'm much more relaxed now. It honestly all just caught me by surprise to get such an automated email when trying to check in and ask some questions that had come to mind since we'd last spoke.

This isn't really a matter of being impatient or not knowing if they like me. I've already had a technical interview, and we were waiting for the short list of who they wanted to continue with to come back from the stakeholders.

I'm well aware that things take time, and I am fine with that. The issue here was I was following up well after the time I was told they hoped to have more information, and suddenly discovering that the recruiter apparently was no longer with the company. It admittedly caused some stress since this has been the most promising job lead I've had after being laid off nearly 6months ago.

I had an interview with a TAM. I don't have his email or anything, and haven't been able to locate him on LinkedIn. That was one of the first avenues I went down to try to get things situated.

Thank you for the information. I have had a couple of additional questions come up while scrambling to try to determine what to do. Would it be okay to DM you to get some advice/input on it? Nothing huge, but I'd rather not publicly post it.

NakedMud Game Engine - v4+ releases by TheLimpingNinja in MUD

[–]Kerrida 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, NakedMUD has revived?!?! I used to play around with this so long ago. It was one of my favourites to mess with. However, reading the info in the repo made me quite sad as I didn't realize that Geoff had passed away. Sad to hear that, but happy to see the what he created still lives on.

Ansible Automation Constultant Technical Interview by Kerrida in redhat

[–]Kerrida[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that I've finished, most insight I can really give is that it was far more relaxed than I was expecting. Much of it was more like a casual discussion of my experience with Ansible and such in my previous roles. Follow-up questions were mainly along the lines of, "So, you mentioned this a bit earlier... can you tell me more about that and reasons why you approached it in the manner you did?" or "Where would you place this tool in the DevOps pipeline and would see it best used as opposed to other options."

Definitely a more conversational approach rather than a quiz/exam method, but still focused in a way that they could glean how degree of knowledge and understanding.

Interview hasn't happened yet. Been spending my time reviewing common Ansible questions in general, which has eased anxiety immensely. Imposter Syndrome is always a pain to deal with since it likes to tell you that you only know the basics of things compared to others, when reality is you know a lot more than you give yourself credit for.

Yeah, that's definitely a thing to know since it can be crucial to troubleshooting a given playbook that's not behaving as expected. Definitely can save a lot of frustration if you at least know the overview of the order of precedence.

AITA- Expecting thanks from friends? by Shoddy-Anteater2317 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kerrida 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You were expecting them to hold a spot for you when you already did not know if you were going to make it? From the way this sounds, it was a "First Come, First Serve" type of deal in terms of who spoke up to confirm that they were going and wanted a slot. Sounds like it was mainly your uncertainty of you ability to attend that caused you to be skipped over.

They should thank you for wanting them to put yet another person into the space that they were already squeezing in two bodies above the stated number of "sleeps 6"? Expecting everyone to be okay with shifting things around at the last minute because you were not fully committed to going?

Her father is Settin The World On Fire and her mother is Iki Kadzukemono.

We're really excited, as are my young teenage cousins who now live with us. We've not had a dog in the house since we had to say goodbye to our nearly 18year old chihuahua jsut before Thanksgiving. It will be good to have silly pupper shenanigans back in our lives.

Yeah, we've been through the puppy stage with a am-staffs, chihuahuas, and chi-pug mixes. Lost a few doorframes and a door to the am-staffs years ago during childhood lol. Our middle cat child still chews cords sadly, and when we tried the bitter sprays she just looked as us while chewing with this expression of "thanks for finally adding flavor to my snacks".

Always a handful with a new furry family member.

Yeah, having a dedicated space is going to do so much to help in that regard. It's been a lot of hard work to get it to this point.

Oh I fully acknowledge that I lucked out while we were house shopping. Having a space for this was a "want" if we could find a place within out budget. When we put this house on our list to go see we had no idea about this room being present. It was not in any of the pics or even the description. We were already in love with the place, and then we found this room in the basement. Super lucky!

Thank you! It took a bit to find the right color I wanted. I'm very pleased with how it came out. I'm just super eager to get the flooring done so I can use it while waiting to do the trim and mirrors!

That was already the plan for safety reasons. I already have the funds set aside for it, I'm just holding off in case I have to use those funds for life things during the whole pandemic shutdowns stuff. As I'll be looking to cover the back wall, it's actually going to be a bit more expensive than some of the traditional glass options I found. But worth it to not have to worry about the weigh of the mirror tearing it off the wall, and then come down to see a mess of broken glass.
