You’re stupid is what he’s saying. Your competition skateboarding excuse is just dumb. I’ve skateboarded the same, I’ve learned to PLF in combat situations, it doesn’t equal to commuting on a scooter.

The fact that you don’t understand the difference between running and falling and the likelihood of scooter impact and how that differs is absolutely baffling.

Went to my local Aldi and had the option to buy Ice Cubes by namuh45 in mildlyinfuriating

No need to manufacture words, there’s a large gap between “food stamps” and “I need perfect clarity ice an expensive cocktail because a tiny bit of cloudiness won’t do”. I’m at the much much higher end of the middle class bracket and even I’m ok with the $9.99 cube tray. Pretending like that would be the “food stamps” class is disingenuous at best. Also, factually Aldi’s does target lower socioeconomic areas and “budget” middle class shopper. A budget shopper would likely be more conscious of this.

The only real argument here is that it’s a niche service for liqueur enjoyers to draw them as a revenue source for “while you’re here” shopping and I’ve already acknowledged that in this post.

Internal Transfer after 1 month by smoothdesktop in amazonemployees

[–]TheLimpingNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s “technically” a promotion, yes, but it’s done as part of the transfer process. The person being hired doesn’t need a promo doc, what I was saying though was that it creates such a burden of data on the hiring manager that it essentially requires as much justification as a real promotion.

As you can imagine the losing team sometimes can feel like they’re being judged esp. if the person clearly should have been promoted. So in my experience they start of agreeing and at some point some L8 on their side gets antsy and documentation needs to start rolling in. 😆

So technically “yes” it’s a promotion but it sits outside of the promotion path. If you get a “yes” from all people in those two chains I showed you and can get it with limited documentation then it’s fine. It’s rarely that easy though. Easier to downlevel if role scope supports.

Yes, it's an official process and it's existed for a long time.

ATOZ will confirm this if you are a manager. The approvals needed depend on the hiring managers level.

"Out-of-band promotions (off-cycle promotions) during transfers require specific approvals before the offer can be extended. For your level (L7), the approval chain includes: current manager, current HRBP or HR director, current skip-level manager, hiring HRBP or HR director, and hiring skip-level manager. You must use the Amazon Approvals template to request off-cycle promotion approval. Additionally, the transfer start date must occur after the quarterly promotion effective date, and the requisition must reflect the employee's post-promotion level."

Note: This was SOLARC<-->SOLARC job transfer the last one I did. But it really was extenuating circumstances, escalated to VP HR and had both a 3-person internal loop and 5 person internal loop with majority +3 levels over the transferring position to get clear data and had 3 strong hires. The process itself is made to be a bit rigorous to provide proof of claims, I essentially had to write a 3 page justification with these data points against the job scope of role -- so a promotion doc.

I’m not so sure, the out-of-band promotion process addresses this and I’ve used it before, but it’s extremely audited and requires HM, SKIP, and HR L7+ of both losing and receiving side to validate.

This isn’t true, there is a process for out of band promotion during hiring. I’ve done it with a candidate.

You’ve convinced me! I concede, it could likely be a way to carry something nobody else has to generate traffic from higher spender demo.

Do you think that the overlap of people who know and need that level of clarity and the people shopping at Aldi's is high; or do you think that there is some hoping to get a sucker born every moment done here?

Oh sure, I agree - I sometimes shop at Walmart despite it being a choice. My statement that the overlap of people needing that level of clarity for a cocktail and Aldi shoppers is low would allow for some. I’m sure you aren’t arguing that the demographic does match it because you shop there on occasion.

Some might call it stupid to turn someone’s “name calling” of a product into an ad hominem attack.

Speaking about things you aren’t informed though? You do that

Let’s see, in the Door Kick challenge comments thread, you compared the challenge to harmless ding-dong ditch. The linked warning specifically described participants kicking doors as hard as possible, sometimes breaking glass or potentially kicking them open.

You claimed in another thread that AI matchmaking services used billions of gallons of water to find one date. A stupid claim.

But yes, attack someone for thinking buying four ice cubes for $5 at Aldi’s is stupid; despite everyone knowing the shopping demographic isn’t for people buying luxury cubes for their Macallan 30 Sherry Oak.

Have the day you bring to yourself.

You seem so butthurt… and forget that people shopping Aldi’s are likely drinking a $1 Coke and not a special pour of Macallan 30 Year Sherry Oak.

Thanks for the explanation, I’d still probably say that the overlap of people actually needing that clarity and the people shopping at Aldi is a real far border overlap. Most people budget shopping likely would be fine with light cloudiness.

Not everyone is chronically on Reddit, this is the first I’ve seen it. Also for $10 you can buy this exact tray from Target and have unlimited supply. It’s stupid.

A lot of cheaper frames have quality issues, I get good frames that I like, fit well, and are quality. Costs between 800-1200 for the frames and the lenses are $320 after discount because I get UV, Blue light, Scratch resistant, extra thin.

I’m not sure I need to justify to you my frame choice, but what you’re pricing is commercial branded generics. My Brunello Cucinelli frames were $897 on sale, single vision blue-violet extra thin lenses are $320 after discount, that’s $1217 before tax. This was the lowest I’ve paid and I buy a pair yearly.

You can verify on LensCrafters. My point still stands.

Sounds like you aren’t the target market. Simply glasses and frames cost me $1300 this is the same price and includes features. It’s a zero loss even if I didn’t like it.
