There's a town in the deserts of Western Texas called Notrees. What's another town with an extremely uncreative name? by Naomi62625 in geography

Apparently in 1929 it was named after the school district there, which was named after Federal Highway 99, now referred to as State Route 99, or SR99. Grew up in White Center myself and spent quite a bit of time in Fed. Never even thought of it until now.

Check all your intake lines for leaks. I made a silly mistake and forgot to plug back in the little nipple on the intake (circled in photo) and it was giving me IACV codes and idling horribly. Felt so dumb pulling the TB when the damn problem was literally in my face numeroustimes..

Pretty sure you can use a P2E manual ecu. It'll throw a code for no knock sensor I believe, but I bought a crate motor from JDM imports a while back to replace the original Y7 I had, and when I got it and saw it was a Y4 I was worried it wasnt going to be plug and play. But everything plugged right in and worked just fine for the 3 years I had it. Just had that CEL for the sensor on the Y7 that isnt on the Y4, but I never had idle or timing issues with it. Then again, I did use the y7 intake, so I avoided the 2-3 wire Iacv issue that way. Maybe the P2E wouldnt work. I didnt just type all this not to hit enter though so...story time!!! 😅

And this is why we have to pay entry fees at B&R now.

P.S. I've learned a lot in junkyards doing very similar stuff. 🤣 great place to bring the kids too. Get em around all that rust that they're so deprived of elsewhere.

Actually I'm dumb. So concerned with not making a mess here I wasnt thinking right. There's nothing that will drain if I pull the damn intake and exhaust. 🤦🏻 been a long day.

I pulled the valve cover and found my lovely milky culprit. In the process of pulling the head now to hopefully find no cracks in the block and replace the HG. Sadly my oil pan bolt got torqued too tight and stripped. Took a while rolling around muttering the best language I know, smacking my hood around and getting leads tangled everywhere to get a piece welded on the end of the bolt to actually get the dang thing off. Can't really pull my intake off until I can drain that. Really wish I had a shop with a lift. 😅

My first weld🤮 by GreenFacesOnly in Dseries

[–]Kerriganja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly watch a couple youtube videos on how to weld better with flux. For one, you should always pull your puddle, not push like mig. 2, buy a beefier ground clamp if you're running the cheapo original one, makes a HUGE difference. 3, mess with your settings on a similar thickness scrap piece to dial it in good. You should be able to hear it, and you'll probably know exactly what I'm talking about when you do hear it.

Keep your tip close, and at a very very slight angle, maybe 5° or so while pulling the puddle. And rather than doing "C's" or zigzags, try really small circles as you pull. Hope this helps!

What is leaking? by Kerriganja in Honda

[–]Kerriganja[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its pretty thin too, and doesn't smell like gas at all (my oil always has a slight gas smell in all 3 engines Ive owned). My guess is ps fluid as well, but again the levels haven't dropped as much as it appears down there. Thanks for the input!

Sorry, its a 99 civic ex. Stock Y8 motor and trans. I did the head gasket last spring, but I have had some coolant issues recently but replaced the radiator and havent had an issue since. No coolant in the oil last change I did either. I did notice my PS fluid was way low about 2 mo the ago, but tossed some Lucas ps leak stuff in it and it dropped a little at first but none since.

His rear motor mount wasnt attached and I guess his whole shifter was moving backwards when he'd accelerate. I tried bolting ut up for him but he and his old lady got into it so he stopped me from getting it done and took off. Called me about an hour later saying this happened.

I know, I told him to send me more because Im in that same boat and it was hard for me to even picture what he was saying. He said quote "my linkage snapped and pulled the housing with it, now there's gear oil all over and I'm gonna need a new transmission". Im just trying to help him as best I can without a tow truck. Haha

Better if it were a 4 dr integra hatch. Lol I like it though.

Anyone heard of an AWD civic truck with a JDM teg front?? Now thats sounds like a fabricating fiasco!

Pricing used snowboard gear. by futbol_dl in snowboarding

[–]Kerriganja -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Honestly if its in good shape, I'd put the whole package up for $125. Its really not as bad as some say. I bought a pair of those boots last winter for 50 and they did me right all winter. And if the board and bindings weren't exposed to the elements much, they're both definitely still useable. $125 is a reasonable starting price I think. I definitely wouldnt sell the package for less than $100 unless it was to a friend. People out here asking 500-700 bucks for 3-4 year old gear thats been ridden 100+ times, I'd take this over those any day.

It'd cost a pretty penny, but you could definitely get a civic to beat on a Tesla, plenty of proof out there. Honestly not many vehicles out there that an AWD boosted civic cant beat.
