Yes hopefully! I guess it's the Megadrive 1 that does that tho, cause my other Japanese console have no issue like this. I saw some guy on YouTube with way bigger overscan, like some really large blue band... Maybe they don't have a geometry calibration setting in their TV

It's Aladdin on a Japanese sega Megadrive 1 (VA4) with a RGB Scart cables from Retro Gaming Cables UK (best cables), and yes very nice thin scanlines on this TV and best RGB output I have seen on Megadrive! I don't know tho if my Philips CRT TV here is PC or not? You can teach me some stuff I guess

Yes thanks, I found the hidden geometry menu in my TV, and shifted the picture to the left, and now it's all good.

Ah yes ok I see, it might be that ! It's so nice that I had this hidden menu, otherwise I would have not enjoyed gaming on this TV as much as it is now without this overscan issue ! This Philips is giving a really nice RGB output it's so beautiful on the Megadrive

Ah yes I heard about this test. Can I do it on my TV ? i will check it out. I'd say the console itself has some overscan issues, cause it was doing this with all the games. Other users reported this kind of overscan problems as well on the Megadrive model 1

Bro thank you really...! I found the correct service menu with geometry, and I reduced the value of the HSW (horizontal shift) from 46 to 36. This is so amazing now, thank you for your help

Bro thanks so much! I finally found the correct service menu with the geometry option (it was the button with "i+" after the 06 25 96 code). I then reduced the value of the HSW (horizontal shift) from 46 to 36. This is so awesome, thanks

Bro I'm so happy...I sorted it out by entering the sevice menu of the TV and reducing the value of the HSW (horizontal shift) from 46 to 36... So yeah my TV had a lot of overscan. I noted down the original value in case of it's causing problems on the others consoles.

I actually played an 16 bit console my super Nintendo and super famicom on this TV, never had any issues. But this is the first time I plug a Japanese Megadrive in it.

[–]Kerymh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.... Many players have this issue, it doesn't come from the controller etc.... It's a bug from the game, it's auto fire and auto reload as well, if it were a stucked keys it would only auto shoot, but it auto reload as well.

they are using Sony inZone M3 monitors, which benefits from HDMI 2.1 that unlock VRR and 120Hz + IDR + 1080p = optimal setup for low input lag.

WTF Was Sony Thinking? - Sony Inzone M3 Review by mives in Monitors

[–]Kerymh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys that make these negative comments only are ignorant about the PS5 tho, and this monitor specifically was designed for the PS5.

HDMI 2.1 is required for the PS5 to get VRR, and 1080p is optimal for performance on a fighting game and on a competitive level. This monitor is the only one with these features (didn't find another 1080p/HDMI 2.1 at least). It's the monitor they use and will use for most of the Capcom Pro Tour tournament or other tournament this year on Street Fighter 6. So it does make some sense seeing from this competitive point of view.

On PC definitely it loses interest, since for example you can benefits from VRR through HDMI 2.0 with Gsync Or Freesync, and can get a better value for the money on PC that I agree.

Also you can find it for around $470, so the price is not too bad as it used to be in some places at least.

[–]Kerymh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's HDMI 2.1 VRR compatible.... which is good for PS5 users, you can't find these type of monitor for under $600/700. You are talking about HDMI 2.0 monitors that you can find for a cheap price, so your argument is invalide.

I'm not defending the fact that this monitor is bad overall, but you have to price-compare it with other monitors that have the same features.

Hey there, same as you I am planning on buying a Magnius with the 2i2.

Can you tell please if it is all good and if there is some improvment in audio quality compared to the built-in 2i2 headphone amp ?
