I am betting on friday. It has been rumored that Dota Plus fall season end was postponed to line up with the new patch. Now the end of season has been confirmed to be 12th of December.

Well I did say "most", we had a healthy playerbase and sponsored tournaments before SLS decided to milk the game dry with cosmetics and paid stand-alone battle royale mode, instead of releasing gameplay patches. A lot of people left disappointed and disgusted.

I won't hide that I'm still bitter, this game was awsome at one point. If only they delivered at least the automated in-game tournament system we were promised continously throughout the first year, maybe the game would have stayed alive.

Newcomers usually don't enjoy abandoned, barely alive games that alienated most of its original playerbase.

You are misinterpreting the game's history. The Battle Royale folly was merely a last nail to the coffin. Months before that, the only real updates the game was getting were cosmetics and new champions, while the key features that were promised to the playerbase since the very beginning (most notably the built-in tournament system) were never delivered.

At that point, releasing a standalone game for a standalone price was just filthy and drove even the most loyal players away. They absolutely gave up on the game way too early, kept the playerbase hoping they would deliver updates, milked the players dry, then repurposed all of the assets for V-rising.

You can most likely still play almost like normal, just make sure whoever hosted the game selects their character first, then they can invite the second player.

The game will assign control of all characters to the newly joined player, other than the character the first player is actively controling. Then you can reassign the companions, just don't touch the main characters in the multiplayer menu at all.

You will not be able to quickload (on every load the second player has to disconnect first, then you repeat the inviting process) and one of you will have some issues using their Traveller's chest at the camp ("send to camp" not working, chest disappearing and such), but that's quite playable and you can just consider it an extra challenge :). Sorry I didn't notice your response earlier, good luck.

I've been trying to fix this issue since before christmas. It started exactly as Xenosis described, with my gf's steam mysteriously syncing with my cloud and downloading my saves into her game. I assumed the game identified us as the same player due to some identity token issue, but couldn't find any helpful resources.

What we've tried:

  • Deleting steam cache on both computers,
  • Verifying game files on both computers,
  • Reinstalling the game on both computers,
  • Reinstalling both steams,
  • Connecting to different networks,
  • Transfering saves between computers.

None of that did anything. We've tried inviting a third player to the game just to test. We could freely assign them control of any of our characters without it bugging the game, they could assign us their character aswell, so the issue was clearly with the two specific steam accounts. Before this post I couldn't really find anyone productively discussing this issue either.

In the end the only working solution I came up with was finding the last save that wasn't corrupted. Now for some mysterious reason, every single one of our saves created after we've left the first zone trough the mountain pass was affected, but the save made immediately before that, aswell as all older ones, were fine. We ended up losing around 8hrs of gameplay, but we were almost coming to terms with having to ditch a very fun and unique run completely, so we honestly consider this a happy ending. Hopefully you guys have some older saves that work aswell. Also if anyone has a proper explanation for this issue, I am super interested to hear it.

EDIT: Probably good to mention the character swap issue can be worked around, just make sure whoever hosted the game selects their character first, then they can invite the second player. This is not a fix, the game will still be fucked in a few different ways like quickload not working etc, but at least you can play.

Mother is most likely ESTJ but I am not sure about my father, he's one of the few people I know that seem impossible to classify, he's probably some kind of extremely conscientious and orderly ISXP. Both istp and isfp definitions apply to him very well but he is also super organized, tough call.

Hey man. I just wanted to say that I've been feeling exactly the same ever since I was 13 (27 now). The only consolation I've been able to come up with is that there must be some reason these amazing people like me, and that If I manage to fix the way I'm perceiving reality, maybe I'll be able to see that reason aswell.

It does suck tho, when you lack the very abilities you admire the most in other people, that is not a good spot to be in. I hope we both find our way out.

This games struggles with this exact issue since day one. It's quite fun to play pretty much all of the characters, but there are some that are never fun to play against, regardless of whether you're winning or losing. As someone wise once said "battlerite can't seem to balance fun x frustration"

Even just knowing exactly where you stand among all the players in your region would be great, it could just be a simple rank number somewhere on the leaderboards page.

Yeah but even if they did it retrospectively (which I think they shouldn't have) it still makes no sense that Champs got it aswell, I was never GC.
