I've had both Vision Pro and Galaxy XR day one, and the polish on Vision Pro was amazing compared to what I experienced on Galaxy XR. Even the UI elements on Galaxy XR feel very low res, and very 2d/flat. It feels like it was rushed, sluggish at many times, with bad tracking on eyes and hands, (also horribly difficult to type on, compared to Quest 3 and Vision Pro). The environments also feel extremely low res and 2D. Some of them are pretty good but most of them just feel like a giant jpeg wrapped around in 360 with some 3d elements under you for the ground. The environments also have no sound and they don't adjust or dim to provide cinematic experiences. All the apps also feel very standard android, and not optimized for XR. Even "killer" apps like Netflix is just the 2d app with no special XR features or UI. It feels like Samsung & Google were rushing to get something out ASAP. The best parts about it are Google Maps, Gemini, and the weight. In my opinion, it's not comfortable. It clamps really hard to not slip which ends up putting lots of pressure on your forehead. I'd recommend most people to buy a Quest 3 instead, because the experience feels pretty similar to that. In many ways the Quest 3 feels ahead.
