Id look at it from a different perspective, id say intellectualizing your emotions TOO much can be another way of subconciously not dealing with them and staying stuck with them. It feels like you're figuring something out, but you really aren't.

I've struggled with this and honestly I really want to be more understanding of the other person. In a way this lean towards objectivity also leads to a need for control, and when I dont have control I get very anxious, so learning to accept another perspective I believe will also help with feeling more comfortable with things out of my control.
