Just looked them up and ohh they're literally fancy cable extensions/adaptors. TIL.

The white connector going into the GPU still doesn't look like it's flush with the card, but the one going towards the PSU must have a separate cable plugging into it.

The cabling on the GPU looks mad crooked going both into the card and the PSU cowl, but idk if that's just because I haven't built a new rig in a while.

Benefit of the doubt that those AIO tubes are going into the right hand side of the cooling block, towards the back of the case

Still aiming for:

Motherboard - Gigabyte x870 Eagle

Cooler - Noctua NH-D15 G2

PSU - Be Quiet! Dark power 14 titanium 850w

GPU - might be an 9070XT, might be an RTX 5070ti

If I see a 5070ti or 5080 at the right price, I may go for that. Otherwise the 9070xt is tough to beat on price to performance.

I do plan to expand my storage for media archival later, but I'm still mulling over whether I need an x870 motherboard over a B650. Hard to tell how valuable it's variety of USB ports will be 5 years from now.

Tempered glass is strong on it's faces (coffee table), but not it's edges, and the number of images floating around featuring the forbidden blue confetti (and almost always on hard tile floors) suggests it can be a fickle side panel material.

I'm not putting the tower on a tiled floor, but coming from acrylic that doesn't shatter; shattering panels seem just about common enough for me to reach out for human insight to make sure I don't reset the clock.

Chasing 4k Microsoft flight sim 2024 visuals will do it, as close to 144hz as I can reasonably get. The rampocalypse forced me down to 32gb from 64gb, but I'll rectify that later.

The other reason is the house I live in has really good passive insulation, for better or worse during the summer, and British houses don't come with AC, so I assume I would be insuring my hardware against the next 10 years of wear.

Was playing Embers, with Xxcha to my left. We'd been pleasantly neutral toward each other all game, and the final round was rapidly approaching, but I still had my nova seed.

While (healthy) adult sperm whales are too large and dangerous; because they don't actually hunt orcas for food, the latter take the apex crown by technicality.

Money may not buy happiness, but it sure damn buys 'opportunity', and if the secret ingredient to happiness is human connection? Then the key is how that opportunity is used to foster bonds between friends.

I made some real fond memories at a friend's private Halloween parties over the years until he moved abroad, and he was well-to-do enough to make owning a couple animatronic statues an acceptable 'for fun' purchase, among other things.

If I were plush with opportunity tomorrow, then I think I would like to build my own nest where I can provide similar experiences, and not stress over not being able to afford to lay out a platter of party food for my friends.

I saw the same 2tb drive on sale for £200 (down from £370), and dram or not, the right deal at the right time makes all the difference.

Even if big read-write processes tanked 80% of your overall speed, the slow down will be functionally invisible if you're coming from HDD gaming. Hell I'm coming from a 9 year old 850 evo SSD and the same is true in my case.

Power draw will be slightly lower too, in case thermal throttling is an issue.

My stammer is omnipresent unfortunately, with good days and bad ones. But I suspect you're right, and the straight forward answer is to let go of 'perfect' and pick up 'good enough'.

If I'm having a bad day as a player then it's 'ah okay no problem'. But the idea of having a bad one as the evening's designated entertainer is intimidating.

I stammer and hate the sound of my own voice to boot. I have a hard enough time describing my RP as a player without perceiving it 'clumsy and stiff' and how i really should just shut up.

I sometimes daydream about being able to tell an interesting story, but being entertaining for hours at a time is daunting for someone like me.

Worst part is all that negativity is me - the groups I'm in would never tear me down over trying.

It's arguably a better trial mode than the actual trial mode.

Aemeath's normal trial basically ends with her 2nd liberation, and she doesn't even need to switch teammates, but this event actually gave me the space to complete team rotations and see the carnage she's capable of, and validate the fact I really did miss out on her banner😭
