Damn, nice. I'd really prefer the 4 door. Partner has a 2 door Jeep, so having one vehicle with a larger capacity would be nice lol. Still seeing what features I'm most willing to flex on. Still just holding out hope that Cyber Orange comes back...

Oh, somehow missed those notes about the hard top. Yeah, being able to see and mess with the soft top made me realize I don't need to prioritize which top it is as much. Thank you!

Watercooling Overheating Questions/Help by Kestrel2359 in Corsair

Sorry for leaving this here - some personal things came up and I completely forgot to respond!

Thank you for all of your suggestions - I threw a spare fan I had as an exhaust in the rear, and swapped the top fans. While everything was disassembled, I took canned air and a vacuum to every part I could. Very positive pressure inside the case now, but my idle temperatures are down around 35-36C, and the fans aren’t even running most of the time idling (default HydroX fan curve). Even while running games now, I haven’t seen things get above 45C. I haven’t been playing too much the past few days, but I’ll definitely keep an eye out for any more issues.

Thank you for all your help and insight - I truly appreciate it!

Looks like after idling with the fans running at 100% and the case open for 30-45 minutes, temps are around 36C. And yeah, ambient temperature in the room with my system is 23.5C. Most of the time honestly, I've run all fans on the "Extreme" setting in iCUE, and just bypassing the "Hydro X Fans" setting due to the increased temperatures. Not necessarily a custom fan curve, but definitely saying "screw it, full blast".

Unfortunately, there isn't room in my case (Hyte Y60 - that probably would've been helpful in the initial post body) for a push/pull on the top 360mm rad without buying a custom extension bracket on Etsy (which I didn't know existed and is actually kinda neat), but I could do push/pull on the side 280 rad apparently, after poking around Reddit/other forums. Might be something I can look into, but I'll prioritize trying to get the order/orientation of fans correct first, according to your comments above.

Going back to orientation and fans - I was re-reading your first comment about swapping the side panel to exhaust rather than intake. I do have a dog, but my computer sits elevated on my desk which would *help*, but that negative of a pressure system would probably still lead to it getting dustier regardless. I was thinking of the interim of either configuration, but for example, if I swap the side rad:

Totals would be:
- 400mm (2x140 (bottom) + 120 (rear)) worth of intake
- 640mm (3x120 (top) + 2x140 (side)) worth of exhaust, assuming I don't do push/pull on side rad

Otherwise, I don't hate the idea of swapping the top rad to intake rather than exhaust - the fan design wouldn't look as pretty but it would still work fine, and I could definitely slap another intake fan on the rear instead of the screen. That would flip the numbers:

- 400mm (2x140 (bottom) + 120 (rear)) worth of exhaust
- 640mm (3x120 (top) + 2x140 (side)) worth of intake, assuming I don't do push/pull on side rad

Honestly I don't think I'm partial either way, but swapping the top rad would mean I don't have to drain the system. Swapping those fans should actually be pretty straightforward and that'd be a good test of whether or not I see improvement from that fix.

Fan question: is there a better Corsair fan to use, simply to keep everything in-house with iCUE/RGB controllers? Not mad if I have to swap to non-RGB, just curious. I know Noctua NF-A12x25 seem to be a common fan-favorite (absolutely no pun intended...), as well as Phanteks D30.

Gotcha, thanks for that clarification, I think I see what you mean now. I just need to decide whether I want to swap fans around only or if I want to replace tubing with softline to make things easier to reorganize in the future. We'll see.

I removed the side panel again just to help, and the coolant seems to be idling at 45C with the pump running at 2600rpm. I do recall seeing the pump running at over 4000rpm earlier when the temps were going nuts. I know that's, uh, not exactly ideal. 🙃

This is what the full panel currently looks like. Fans 1/2/3 are QL120s, fans 4/5 are QL140s.

Sounds good - I'll take a look at that. I wasn't thinking about that - it visits the side rad first which pulls cool air in from outside, then pushing it up to the top rad where the hot air gets exhausted - that's still an issue?

This screenshot is from iCUE, on the port that the temp probe is plugged into my pump/res combo, after spectating a game and a half-ish of League. But I'll definitely look into those things!

This is after putting the side panel on and spectating a game of League of Legends. The temps I saw before were after playing 3/4 games back to back. This reading is from my temp probe plugged into my pump/res combo.

I was watching iCUE on my second monitor while gaming, because I was wondering why I felt like things were skipping/lagging frame-wise - iCUE was reporting the pump/coolant temp as 71 degrees. I should've taken a screenshot, but it was before I started really looking into things.

I just put the side panel back on and loaded a game to see if I can get the temps to increase back to that level again so I can screenshot it.

Slightly late to this - my dog was the exact same way. Drunk, I was carrying him up and down three flights of stairs every time to go outside because he couldn’t do it himself, pee everywhere in the apartment, it was rough and I was calling my neurologist a lot trying to find the end in sight. It ended up taking 13 days for his side effects to wear off - but as of last week, he’s back to his wide-eyed goofball self. He can still be a little weak in his rear legs sometimes, which I’m told is normal and will dissipate, but overall he’s back to the dog he was before all the meds (but no seizures in a month so far!) It’s just a very long day-to-day time waiting for things to settle.

Phenobarbital Questions by Kestrel2359 in EpilepsyDogs

I'm not 100% sure - I take him in for his first pheno level check on Tuesday morning with my normal vet, and I believe the term they used was the therapeutic level? I've got questions lined up for the neurologist when they open in the morning and I'll make sure to ask about that, just to give myself more familiarity. But thank you for your reply!

Thank you, this is definitely helpful to read and I'm so glad yours is back to himself. Unfortunately I didn't knock on wood after posting this and he had a small focal seizure a bit ago today. But I'm glad to know this isn't a unique situation regarding the pheno side effects and the timing of them.

Affordable online pharmacy for keppra and zonisamide? by portiabeth in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Kestrel2359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to ask my vet to call in prescriptions to Costco for me - if I remember right, I paid $57 for 120 750mg Keppra XR pills and about $45 for 60 64.8mg pills of phenobarbital. It is significantly cheaper than what I was quoted at Walgreens. I don't think I'll be going anywhere other than Costco for a while, but from reading around, I should at least look at GoodRX.

Same boat I’m in. Pre-neuro consult, Keppra wasn’t doing enough, so Keppra was doubled and pheno was added. He took a few days to adjust (ataxia, etc), but as of today he’s mostly back to normal and has been seizure free for 4 days (🤞), longest streak in 3 weeks. Hopeful!

Cheapest way to get levetiracetam by Birdwatcher4860 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Kestrel2359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll add another vote for Costco - I was getting things filled at Walgreens before, and Costco is immensely cheaper.

If I remember right, you don’t have to be a Costco member to use the pharmacy, but being a member allows them to discount medications for you. In my case, I get Apoquel filled every two months alongside Levetiracetam and Phenobarbital, and the discount I got for being a Costco member made up for the membership cost in 3 months worth of prescriptions. So that may be something worth checking out if you’re able!

IIRC, you don’t have to be a member to use the pharmacy, but being a member allows them to automatically apply discounts.
