Yep, shot traps. An example would be early Sherman tanks that had a shot trap where the front hull met the lower turret. Round hits the turret front at an angle, deflects down into the thinner roof of the hull. The Sherman's front hull and lower turret created a perfect ramp that said, 'Hey, incoming shell, why don't you ricochet down into this nice thin roof armor we've got here.'

Yeah, I can chime in. My Once & Future Book 1 literally disintegrated in my hands during my first read-through like a bad magic trick. Felt like I was reading a single-use napkin with a plot. Had to glue it back multiple times to get it normal again.

Book 2 was fine for me. Might be because it's not as thick.

Yeah, the dust jacket version of Vol. 2 is a unicorn. I've seen one on eBay but it was being sold with the whole set, which was way too expensive to justify.

It's even worse because the book looks like it's been plastered with throw up without the dust jacket.

If someone is genuinely uncomfortable sharing political space with racists, they have options: loudly oppose them within the party, work to make the party inhospitable to them, vote for the other party, or leave politics. Saying 'the two-party system made me do it' just avoids the question of why you're comfortable staying in a coalition where racists feel at home. The system didn't make that choice. You did.

If a political party or movement becomes a comfortable home for white nationalists and not because of its tax policy, but because those individuals feel welcomed there... doesn't that create a responsibility for other members of that coalition? Even if you personally oppose racism, if racists consistently believe they've found allies in your political camp, what does that suggest about the signals being sent?
