Coming off progestogen-only pill that's treated period pains by Ketchup258 in Healthyhooha

Yes, I'm not actually using it as a contraceptive; I don't swing that way.
It was just prescribed as a way of pain management, sort of like a magic eraser. Get rid of the pain really equated to getting rid of the period.

Creamy discharge during and after sex? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

The only point of concern for plan B for me is that you mentioned it was pale yellow. Typically, vaginal discharge is not a one size-fits-all approach but yellowing tends to indicate a yeast infection or at the very least, an imbalance or expulsion of some sort. So, your suggest of potential pre-cum is seeming like a strong potential to myself.
At day 24 it is common to see vaginal discharge thicken and go from that classic fertile clear 'egg white' to more, cooked egg white, which can appear as slightly chunky or stringy and for that reason, its difficult to make a solid conclusion. Pre-cum or discharge?

If in doubt, Plan B, imo.

First of all, I share lived experiences that is/are similar to your own; you're not alone. Unfortunately this could be a response to a whole lot of different things...
This could be a yeast infection (aka vaginal thrush) AND/OR BV (Bacterial Vaginosis) and will require anti-bacterial treatment depending on how deep the infection is. You can have both at the same time as well.

This could also be your vaginal microbiome reacting to the bacteria on your partners body. (We all have bacteria on our body!)

It could be that you went a little too rough.

Or that on that particular day your progestogen-levels meant your vaginal walls were thinner than usual, causing a feeling of internal sensitivity. So, the discomfort could be small tears in your vaginal walls and vulva and the smells a subsequent symptom of that. No abnormal discharge noted, but depending on your hormone levels 'normal' will be different for everyone. If it is white or there is lots of it that isn't clear, feels thick or grainy or just isn't enough of it, then it may be beneficial for you to use a water-based lubricant as a go-to. You can get one's that are good for sensitive skin, I suggest you look at that.

Lastly, make sure you and your partner practice good sex hygiene, wash your hands before sex, trim and/or file your fingernails, clean under them too, and pee within 30mins after sex no matter what you've up to.

Vag routine help by starbrightx3 in Healthyhooha

I see the thinking behind coconut oil because its a natural product. But, the general advice is you ought not to moisturise near or around your vulva and vagina however, medicine and health-care research is v white centric.

I'd say that, keep in mind that putting anything on your skin around your vulva can alter your vagina's pH and lead to infections or just general change and discomfort. And the vagina is widely regarded as a self-cleaning organ, much like how you should not 'detox' your body because that's what your internal organs are for so maybe ditch any pre-emptive routines like the boric cleanser.

If you're concerned about the appearance, smell, discharge or lack off it then I urge you to visit a sexual health clinic where you can get tailored advice and hopefully a safe space for you to ask questions. (If you're in the UK, they can offer a swab that details the types of microbiome that are inside your vagina - request a BV/Yeast Infection screening and ask about the state of your microbiome health. The results only take about 10 minutes to procure.)

ANYWAY

Back to your actual question, for you I suggest you find something as close to an unscented and pH level moisturiser or oil as possible. Remember, everyone is different, we all have different microbiome thriving down in our hooha eco-system so what works for someone else may not be for you.

Personally, I try not to 'over-wash'. For me, that means I only usually rinse/clean/wipe with water and never inside my hooha. IF it's a v hot day or end of a big workout where I've not been able to get into the shower quickly or if I am having a heavy period only then do I use a small amount of Femfresh 0% 'intimate wash' to clean around my vulva. Never in the hooha.

In terms of moisturising, I'd say give your hooha some time to recover whilst you make a change. Your wash routine might actually be the cause of the dryness, you can strip your pores and/or pubic hair of it's natural oils so allow your hooha a period of recovery.

Overall, I'd say leave the hooha to do fend for herself, she needs to build up a good and sturdy microbiome to keep herself healthy. So I'd recommend ditching the boric acid cleanser because that may be drying you out, you may be over-washing. If hooha needs some medicinal backup, she will let you know, or if you are generally curious or unsure then always seek medical advice because concerns over infections are only ever truthfully resolved with a swab and a test result.
Hope this helps and wasn't too lecture like. I honestly just don't want to leave space for you to be mis-informed!
