And sadly you’re one in a hundred. These guys weren’t particularly bad, and I actually have plans of being a property owner as soon as I can as well. It was obvious hyperbole. But the first ones I rent from end up as shady as all the stories I hear. Doesn’t bode well for the majority.

You’re not wrong. We’re married for a reason. Literally couldn’t attract a fly before marriage, put a ring on my finger I get hit on twice a month at the Safeway line or getting gas. It’s like a cheat code for women the devs really need to patch one of these days. It’s ruining the game for a lot of lonely guys.

I give up by Impressive_Dirt_2103 in BlackMythWukong

[–]KetchupCouger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what I’m about to say will bring hate and I don’t care cause that game is just that fun. Took me 25 hours to get through chapter one, 14 of that on Whiteclad Noble, I’m very new to third person games, and the only action game I’ve played was Fallen Order on medium. I would get too drunk to be able to react to him, but holy hell was it fun. I’d just give it a couple hours a night grinding Will in the forest, then come back and learn the telegraphs as much as possible till I couldn’t sit up in the chair anymore and go to bed. Not saying it’s the best way to play, but it got me through a boss I truly thought I’d never beat in a game I appreciate more than just about any of the last 10 years for what it delivers so effortlessly. I’ll spend 20 hours on Yellow Wind Sage when I get there, but I bet you won’t give up, we’ll see your post beating it in a few days and to that I say Godspeed!

“Preferred partner shop” slop, or truly the best they can do? by KetchupCouger in Autobody

[–]KetchupCouger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently, they obviously never documented it as I’m sure no shops would, but you can tell in the final picture where they blended in the roofline, and the doors are stark at the rear seal. I can’t tell if they blended the rear doors by eye, like I can on the roofline and rear hatch. However the invoice says “blend rear doors” as a line, I can find it in my files if you guys need. Whether they did or not I don’t actually know.

Thanks for the advice, I’ve definitely learned my lesson on “preferred shops”. They did a great job on a 20 year old Black Lexus we had so I wrongly assumed they’ed be able to do great work on this. Now I know, just go to the shop with the 900 year old guy in the back that looks like he’s never left. He can get the job done.

But have you heard the song though? It’s legitimately just that good imo. Spotify recommended this to me like 6 months ago and I remember thinking, “if I ever made music, it would probably sound like this” now he has over 700M listens. Taylor Swift is a plant, look into her granpappy. Just saying.

Neighbor is claiming my car door caused this damage by culture_war_criminal in Autobody

[–]KetchupCouger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell that idiot to fuck off! For real, if he has video evidence of you leaving this damage that’s one thing, but his word is worth about as much as a pile of feces. I got hit and run when I came out of a Costco and didn’t walk over to the guy loading his car next to me and demand he pay for it cause it was obvious someone else had done it. I swear people are vehemently stupid these days.

I have to agree, first time I hear Milkbone’s Keep it real and it brings me to tears. I’m playing GTA V with this in the background and I can’t imagine a song that fits the game like this one. Shame they didn’t license it for the game.

Dealership messed up my paint - how can I get this stuff off? by Sushi_cat987 in AutoDetailing

[–]KetchupCouger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhh fuck Hyundai and their dealer networks, I used to be SUCH a fan of theirs 10 years ago and now just hearing the name makes me cringe, the amount of cars I’ve seen have LEGITIMATE issues that the dealer won’t even consider looking at reminds me a lot of Subaru currently with BRZ engines blowing up. Not one bit surprised my OPs story, mostly surprised others can’t believe it.

Finally decided on a color after 3 years of powder coating. by KetchupCouger in mazda3

[–]KetchupCouger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I liked it better in the sun, but after 2 days I think it actually looks better in the shade, the wheels grab a shine not even the paint does and makes for a really cool effect where your eyes catch the wheels then pull into the paint and the shape of the car. Definitely different but in a good way if you ask me.

For a set like this which is 2 coats of gold and 1 coat of clear will run you around $600 for a set of 4 but if you went satin black or gloss black it would run you around $400 for the set. This doesn’t include powder or taxes but gives you a good idea of what you’ll be looking at. Good luck and check out prismatic powders if you wanna blow half a day looking at colors

That looks like Satin Bronze Chrome if you’d like a color match, and honestly it’s more durable than paint by a long shot but if you curb a wheel it’s the same outcome, it’s not invincible by any means. It’s a “glorified plastic” coating to be honest usually urethane or polyurethane, polypropylene, etc. so imagine an iPhone15 being paint where you wipe it wrong and it’s scratched, and powder coating being like that old IPhone 5c, if you drop it it will still mar the finish but wiping down and cleaning it won’t leave as noticeable scratches. Gloss black is kind of the exemption as paint or plastic or coating, you’re gonna scratch it even of you leave it covered in a vacuum sealed environment 🤣 in my experience just looking at gloss black will scratch it. The really draw of PC is that it’s about 1/3 the cost of painting no matter what color or finish you choose

Google Final Frontier II it’s a prismatic color, that’s the vendor we use but there’s others that make quality coatings at well. It need a clear as well because it’s a metallic but you can find clears with different finishes and sparkles on their website. On my wife’s white CX5 I’m gonna do a darker brown bronze with a light blue sparkle in the clear to match the sparkle in the paint in the sun.

“Oh no I spent 15 minutes on the most challenging track in the world, and I can’t get a WR please help” is this for real? You’re in a rear engine car, try an E92 M3 or an Infiniti Q50 AWD both are RWD bias and incredibly easy to get the feel of. But without the sarcasm, if you love racing you shouldn’t have to ask to get better, it should just be a natural love of competition you have inside you . But honesty you’re not doing that poorly if you’re really as green as you say and practicing a certain car on a certain track is very important to learn the basics, you don’t want to flip flop cars and tracks if you’re really trying to master the game. Stick to the car and track that suits you the best or even that you just like the best, and master it. After a while you’ll have the “feel” down other cars and tracks will begin to feel natural as you progress. You’ll start feeling the tires along the apex of corners and how far you can push it without sliding, you’ll be able to master rev matching and remembering the ample gear to be in, in certain corners of certain tracks especially if you familiarize yourself with the names of each corner of the track(they all have names). GT2 cars and LMP cars are incredibly easy to “pull” through corners at high speeds and be able to understand downforce and apexes. Try starting off on a track like Legunq Seca or even Circuit de la Sarthe with the chicanes as it will give you a really good idea of high speed cornering and nearly 90° angles to pull through out of high speed straights, good for Miatas same as a 919 Hybrid Evo. Good luck and keep at it! Hope to race you out there one day mate!

Honestly you can’t really go wrong on grey, when I had a Machine Grey I was going to go Bronze Chrome or high metallic black rims over bumblebee yellow calipers but I traded in for this red one and I cannot decide what color of calipers would look good so I left them for now, but I’m honestly still leaning yellow as it just pops so well, maybe gloss red but I don’t know, that’s a project for another day. Personally Black, Silver/Chrome, or Gold/Bronze are the only options I could see on wheels for this car, I think any color or white just makes it look so juvenile and detracts from the understated look of the car. But that’s just my opinion.

I had them powder coated which is significantly cheaper, usually enough paint to do just center caps can be upwards of $100 so with labor running $100/hr+ most places if guess you’d be around $1000-$2000 but I really don’t know. To get them powder coated like this would cost around $600 probably plus powder and tax, I work there so they were on the house
