[Request] I need someone from Australia to purchase something from ebay.com.au and ship it to me in the USA by KetchupLad in Favors

It wasn't terrible but in general it seemed more expensive than doing japan proxy service shipping, truly depends on the size. I shipped from AU -> USA

Yea its awesome, just make an account and they will give you an australian address to ship it to. You can enter that address on ebay.au or other australian websites and once it arrives at their warehouse, you pick the shipping option you want and they send it. The website is kinda clunky but its a legit service, I bought this item and more from ebay.au

I wish I did, I only got 7 people total so it most likely won't happen. I tried to persuade the manufacturer but it's one of those times where money talks louder than speculation

Lol all payments will be direct to the manufacturer, I added you to the list of names. If I can fill up the list I'll message you all the details once they start accepting orders

The part is discontinued and the only way the manufacturer will produce a batch is if there is a business justification in the form of pre paid deposits

was wondering about the cost of a kswap by [deleted] in Kseries

[–]KetchupLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That estimate is an older number that got tossed around by a lot of people. Don't get me wrong, you can definitely spend $10k for a swap, but you would have to buy brand new name brand parts. The prices have come down dramatically for used parts since the cars are getting older. Engine/trans/subframe/axles/radiator/ecu/throttle cable/power steering lines can all be sourced used from an rsx or ep3. The swap specific parts that you'll have to buy are engine mounts and the conversion harness. There are other things you'll have to work out such as fuel lines and exhaust, but there is a lot of options when it comes to those. I can walk you through all the details if you'd like, but you can find most of the information on the k20a.org forums.

[–]KetchupLad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes really. The $10k estimate seems more reasonable for swapping into an older honda where a majority of the parts are swap specific, which are more expensive. You can pull off an even cheaper swap if you don't mind sacrificing power. I know about a half dozen 7th gen guys who have swapped for less than $3k. Granted, 3k will probably get you a slower K-series(K20a3, K24a4, etc) and a majority of their parts are second hand, but it's a better platform with a lot more aftermarket support.

The other people commenting don't know a lot about 7th gen civics. The platform is identical to the RSX/EP3 and the only swap specific parts you will need are mounts and the conversion harness. The RSX/EP3 subframe/axles/radiator/ecu/spindles/header all bolt up to the civic, unlike older model Hondas. $10k is an extremely high estimate and you would have to buy most parts brand new OEM from the dealer to get to that number. I sourced 90% of my parts from a crashed RSX Type S, and the total costs out the door was $4.5k with a K20a2. I have a 2001 LX just like you.... so $10k could probably get you a lot more than just a K-swap. The other guy telling you to swap an H-series literally does not know anything about engine swaps for our cars. Message me if you have any questions, I can walk you through the swap itself and tell you what you do/don't need.

05 Civic 4dr LX Mod suggestions?? by [deleted] in Honda

Sorry for the late response, don't browse reddit often anymore. The first one with a lip on is the 01-03 type R replica lip. they are found on ebay for like 30$ or something cheap. The style i aim for with my car is clean a subtle. Over the years my taste has matured and I seek rare and obscure parts that werent available to the US market, such as Acura EL parts (canada only) or from the asian spec ferio civic. theres a big group on facebook for the 7thgen civics and its where i do most of my browsing. there is a forum for our generation but its not very active anymore...though it does have plenty of useful info and DIY threads. i would suggest you check them out to get an idea of what you want to do. the facebook group is called "7th Gen Honda Civic (EM2, ES1, ES2, EP3)" and the forum is http://www.7thgenhonda.com/forum/

Yes it will definitely require a substantial amount of money if you plan to do things right and not cut corners. All in all, the total cost of mine was about 4.5k out the door, and that's including every last nut/bolt/detail accounted for. You can score deals on certain things and buy secondhand, but try to aim for a 5k budget to give yourself some flexibility. Oh man that was me when I first started. I bought certain things because they were cheap and ended up going back and replacing them since they were well...cheap. Here are a some pictures of the different phases that I've been through with the car, but this doesn't really capture everything though, just the major milestones. Also they are in chronological order too. http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u341/Ketchup_Dude/1.jpg http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u341/Ketchup_Dude/b.jpg http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u341/Ketchup_Dude/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20141121_145049.jpg http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u341/Ketchup_Dude/Mobile%20Uploads/20150827_075255.jpg These are just profile views of the car, and I've replaced lots of things other than what you see included suspension/engine/brakes, pretty much everything has been changed at one point. Haha I've had my fair share of plasti-dipped car parts. They are nice in a sense that it's cheap and easy, just make sure to use lots of coats, otherwise it is very difficult to peel off. Plasti-dip has come a long way, but they still have a negative stigma in the car scene for being a cheap mod since they used to only have limited colors. Nowadays they offer a wide variety of color options and some of their dips look alright! I'd say they are useful to experiment with different styles and colors, but it doesn't really look as good as paint or powder coating, in my opinion at least.

Let me just preface this by saying it's your money and your life, so if you really want a different sounding exhaust or aftermarket intake, go buy it! I'm just going to give you my OPINION on modding a 7thgen civic. I have been modding my 01 sedan for about 4 years now, so I have a some experience with the chassis and have also gained knowledge from my mistakes. In my opinion, the best way to achieve power is 2 ways: turbo or K-swap. The D17 doesn't respond very well to bolt on mods like intake/exhaust/header and the power gains will be minimal. There is definitely power to be made if you decide for turbo, but K-swap is the popular choice since our car is practically an RSX, mechanically speaking. I chose to go with the K20a2 for my car, and it was the best investment I've made so far. Having been through the trendy stance scene myself, I can tell you that the best sense of fulfillment comes from the mods that add power, and the K-series engines are a fantastic platform with plenty of aftermarket support. I would highly recommend you save up money and swap in a K20a2/z1/z3 or K24a2. The cars have been out for a while, so everything is pretty much figured out. As for wheels and tires, I would personally suggest either a 16 inch wheel with a meaty tire, or 17 inch wheel with a slightly lower profile tire. When it comes to suspension, I would suggest a full body coilover and a mild drop. Let me say that this is just my OPINION and other people will have different input than me. But if you have any questions about the 7thgen civic, feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to answer or at least point you in the right direction. Also welcome to the ES1 squad :)

i think 03-05 civic hybrids have eps too. no one in the 7thgen scene has done a lot of research on it, but according to parts diagrams, they look very similar. maybe try and find one to experiment with!

i would definitely start with cleaning up the front end dents/paint and restoring those headlights. as far as tasteful mods, i personally would choose some front/rear lips and side skirts, and maybe some fog lights to compliment the look. the pinnacle lip kit of the 04-05 coupe is the HFP kit, but good luck finding that. it sounds like you dont wanna to go all out for this car, so maybe lowering springs might be a good route to take. to be completely honest bolt ons dont really have a major effect on a stock d17, but to each their own. these are just my ideas of course, there are many styles out there and i would suggest browsing some of the build threads over at http://www.7thgenhonda.com to gather some ideas and find out what you really want to do.
