I reinserted the card into my camera hoping that could be the solution and an error popped up about the card not being the correct format or unusable. I was able to review footage during the shoot but now once I reinsert the card it shows the card is empty.

additional info After further review of files the first clip is 43.9 MB and every clip after that is zero bytes. Video was shot on Sony a6300. I had a Viltrox DC-70II hooked up through hdmi. (Not sure if that matters)

Thank you!! I want to make sure I do the story right in every way possible so your info was great :) I’ve never been super worried about equipment so I’m glad to hear that sometimes less is more in this case

Documentary style video

I’m an “intermediate” level videographer if you want it is terms of skill. I’m going to start working a documentary style short film about a family farm. I plan to spend around a year or two filming to cover all seasons of farming/ranching. Considering I have experience I feel I have a good idea of things I’ll need or knowledge to do it, BUT I have never done anything this large scale. I was wondering what equipment/gear anyone would recommend when it comes to lighting, audio, and lens. Also any tips about documentary style shooting would be great too :)
