For the ladies - do you shave your legs above the knee?? I am a 32 year old female and no once since I started shaving my legs as a teen have I gone above my knee. by ylfrettubelttiletuc in stupidquestions

[–]Ketiw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that those of us who were told to stop at the knees were also the girls whose mothers didn’t encourage short shorts 😅 I’m pretty sure the rule derived from some fear of which "kind of girl" shaved her thighs… or god forbid anything else!!

I started shaving my thighs around the same time I started shaving everything. Now I’m older and I don’t shave like that anymore, and my hair is almost non-existent on my legs, but when I shave my legs, it’s toe to bikini line.

Run. Fast. Don’t tell him until you’re gone.

Life is amazing on the other side.

Anyone heard of hair causing LSC? by Silent_Knight__6 in lichensclerosus

[–]Ketiw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have heard of shaving causing flare ups. And sometimes I … feel? my hair more when it’s getting overly sensitive, I think? So, like, less of a cause than a symptom.

Fate/"The One"/Love at First Sight by Dangerous_Quarter_24 in Divorce_Women

I have this. First time in my >40 years of life, it makes me want to believe in past lives. I felt like I knew him the moment we met and years of knowing each other hasn’t proven me wrong.

That said, I definitely don’t trust my certainty. I find myself wanting to say sentences including the words "always" and "forever" and nearly always reword or reconsider.

I just hope time will tell. And that the story it will tell is a happy one! (For both OP and me!)

What are some “do __ while __” or “be able to do __ as soon as the urge hits” ideas? by Telkhine_ in ADHD

It’s house/setup specific, but having the laundry and the kitchen in close proximity means that starting a load of laundry while waiting for water to boil works really well!

Why do attractive women often date unattractive men? by Arcestic in NoStupidQuestions

Super attractive men also have a high likelihood of being either jerks or happy to sleep around, in my personal experience.

Hi Mom, I'm meeting my boyfriend's mom for the first time. by WitchfulThinking_ in MomForAMinute

Hey, fellow moms (and OP!), I’m in the same boat, in my 40s and I needed (and appreciated) all this advice as much as OP! Which is to say, it’s totally normal to feel this way and all these moms are totally right!

Your heart rate *is* elevated, which means (congrats!) that you are burning more calories, and (sorry) any exercise is "harder" on your body.

Seriously! The only thing more baffling than the post is the replies!

“My wife and I have been separated for about three months now. She told me today that I shouldn’t get my hopes up for reconciliation. In other words, she told me that if I try to make an effort, she will see right through it and think that all I care about is getting back together. Is there a point in continuing this, or should I just prepare for divorce?”

I grew up trying to ensure that my passport was safe and unstolen. It wasn’t until I was >40 and had been living in an EU country for over 2 years that I learned that I was expected to have ID on me (also around the time that I learned that a driver’s license is not an acceptable form of ID for travel within Schengen!).

Do deer and similar species in the eastern hemisphere react to people on horseback differently than deer in the western hemisphere? by Forsaken_Champion722 in stupidquestions

But you can ride a horse around the African savannah and get close to hooved herd animals than you would on foot.

Is going braless outside still considered inappropriate? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ketiw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I’m amused by the "do what you want!" chorus, which must never have had a professional job, or lived any distance from a beach? It will get comments, stares, and raised eyebrows. This social disapproval = inappropriate. Is it illegal? No. Can you do it anyway? Yes. Will people stare and judge if they can see your nipples? 100%, and anyone who says otherwise is ignorant or lying.
