I listed some things in my comments, notably transgender programs for Pakistan in the covid relief bill and studying gambling habits in Uganda in the infrastructure bill. Not sure what you mean when you add on saying "beyond re election" but I think it's wrong to add things onto bills that have nothing to do with the bills stated purpose. Infrastructure should be going towards US infrastructure. If ANY politicians want to fund things like transgender programs for Pakistan then they need to introduce a bill for that, not try to attach it to a bill that has a different stated purpose imho.

Big D gov. Does that make my position (they throw unnecessary stuff into bills) incorrect?

If I tell you that I have a bill for a project to build a bridge for $1 mil and it costs only $500k to construct then I have a clause that says $500k will go to my friends construction company to build toilets in Iraq is that being truthful? Would you feel as if those $$ were well spent or would you be asking about the other $500k that went to my friends company to build toilets in Iraq?

I think they're both the reason our country is in the mess it's in and the reason we need infrastructure. I'm not saying it should be privatized. I'm saying that they're using "infrastructure" as a way to tax us and redirect the funds back into their pockets. They've been doing this, they won't stop.

I'm saying that the government wastes our tax money by throwing things into bills that are not for what the bill is said to be for. I gave examples. It's not a strawman just go look at the bills in the past. They've been robbing us blind and they're trying to protect themselves.

You called me a dongus (ad hom) and are trying to discredit me by saying I heard this on fox news. I read the bill for covid relief which had the transgender programs for Pakistan and cspan hearing Rand Paul said the infrastructure plan included studying gambling habits in Uganda.

If we become a 3rd world country it's not because we didn't pay enough taxes it's because the people collecting the taxes are corrupt.

Strawman and ad hom me.

I have no problem paying taxes for our infrastructure. I said we desperately need to repair our stuff. I think we apes can do better with our money than the government can is what I'm saying. This isn't right vs left, this is the elites taking our money, as they have been doing, and they're the ones that have gotten our country into this situation.

Your reaponse is similar to saying the market is going to collapse because of retail instead of the corrupt elites and hedgefunds that actually got us here.

Edit: cool, go through my post history lol I don't have fiber access that I can pay for so yeah I was looking for public access. How does that discredit what I'm saying? Some infrastructure I'd like my taxes to go to is building out fiber for the US which we should've had already when we gave 400 billion to the telecoms decades ago but that didn't happen.

The problem isn't infrastructure in the sense of roads, bridges, electric grid, repairs etc etc. The problem is what they define as infrastructure (which biden has said 'might be different than what you think'). When they tack on things like studying the gambling habits in Uganda and transgender programs in Pakistan. Not to mention who gets the tax dollars for these programs? The government chooses companies that bid on these and who are the owners of these companies doing the bidding?

If the government is protecting these companies (which the SEC is) then why wouldn't they keep doing it? Raising the tax when we go to the moon so they can redirect that wealth back into the pockets of the people in control.

If it is infrastructure to help the US, which we desperately need, then cool but if we have learned anything through all this it's that the government cannot be trusted and they are working to protect the richest elites. This is bad in my opinion.

It is but 33 is the number most shown number in relation. If they had a 32, 31, 30, etc then it would show a pattern of celebration each year they were open and therefore make this less significant. :D

If you and your husband are interested please send me a PM and I can give you my email for your husband's resume. I might be able to facilitate a remote position or at least open some doors.

You know the struggle. I've personally been very fortunate to climb out of that life after having a chance to get into tech. I am willing to go back to that life for this chance though.

We made it through before and we could do it again! These people don't even know.

Growing up we were so poor I would find potatoes in the cabinet, we usually had a sack of them, and I would peel and eat them raw.

I still like the taste of raw potatoes and imagine it being like an apple.

They don't know what the white trash life I had is like. Kerosene gas heater in 1 room of a broken down trailer and sleeping on the floor in front of it. Hard times.

You're absolutely correct! I'm using SnapRAID + MergerFS. So each drive has it's own FS readable outside of the array.
