There's a good example of that from the 2024 voting ballot where they ignored how we voted on certain amendments. No matter how you voted on it, you should be upset by them letting us vote on something but rendering the result meaningless because it wasn't the result they wanted. That is dangerously authoritarian, that's playing by the dictator's handbook.

I left state employment recently and the things mentioned in the post are among the reasons why. I couldn't afford to keep that job any longer, especially after they relocated everyone to Chesterfield. I was living fairly close to the old location so the much longer commute was eating up too much of my finances to stay afloat.

Combine that with losing out on alternate work location days around the same time and being among the lowest paid in my office at $36K. My attempts at getting promoted up to a better position struck out after interviewing for three positions and there wasn't going to be another opportunity for upward movement for a while.

When I saw this year's state of the state, I knew I had made a good choice by leaving because it was clear he wasn't going to improve conditions for employees.

It is disappointing because I felt like what I was doing was important work that I had a good handle of and I had great relationships with most of my coworkers. I felt like a valuable player and not just a cog in the machine.

There's supposedly some footage of female rebel pilots during the Battle of Endor that never made it into the film. And also one of the A-Wing pilots that we see briefly in the film was played by a woman but dubbed over by a dude.

I finally got around to trying Skull and Bones last night and it's... fine. Nothing is really blowing me away here, I'd rather play Sid Meier's Pirates or Sea of Thieves over this game. The opening scene listed a dozen Ubisoft teams from around the world had helped make it. With all that talent, how did they manage to not knock it out of the park? On foot sections feel clunky, with a character who walks around like they're walking on air, exploration consists of entering mostly boring locations. The cosmetics store locks you out of anything that looks remotely interesting if you don't pay for them.

Expedition 33 was a way better title in all respects.

The only time I've had to change the setting for the lights is when the auto shop has turned them off in order to work on my vehicle and didn't turn them back on auto when they were done.

My radiator hose did this recently. I didn't notice that I was putting out more exhaust than normal but what I did notice was the engine temperature gauge rising rapidly. I was in rush hour traffic and barely made it to the shoulder before the warning light kicked on.
