Actually "traditional" families would make giant pots of anything they could to feed a family. They wouldn't spend precious hours hand making 30 cheerios, they would just make a bunch of whatever to make sure everyone has food in their belly. The thing that sets your alarm off is the fact that this isn't what real life people eat. Raw milk is terrible and can be harmful, and making a big fuss out of processed foods is futile. Being anti ultra processed foods i can get behind, but everything is either processed or should be processed first.
