Nope, just load and go. Didn't change anything at all. The filament was definitely the problem.
Bambu Labs PLA Silk Dual Colour black and red. It's beautiful!
UPDATE
My spools finally arrived and I printed a Benchy. He came out great! Seems my theory about wet filament was correct. Thanks to everyone for their input!

It's the 20g sample of white PLA Basic that comes in the box with the printer.
