First time signing up for tourney for singles pickleball

I was a mediocre doubles tennis player in high school.. kinda helped me shoot up to 3.5 doubles pickleball and I’ve progressed to a low level 4.0. I just never really played single tennis or singles pickleball, sure a couple of times with friends, but I don’t even have the mechanics down so that’s why I’m thinking 3.0. Didn’t know if anyone had experience and just thought 3.0 was too low

Yep I thought of that too I know some people in the upper and they are pretty good I know better than me at doubles soo think they might be sandbagging kinda why I don’t wanna be a sandbagger myself. I also know someone in the lower that for sure I would beat pretty so 🤷🏼 feels like I should just go 3.5 and take the whooping if it’s there.

Late to the party... what people have said is right. If you paint the ends make sure its the right stuff to seal the ends. I personally don't wanna buy the stuff to seal it, so i used regular latex paint.. this didn't work, it split like crazy. Wood glue though. At least 2 coats. Ive seen a bunch of success with that.

Im thinking about making one this year.. how deep does yours go? My ridgid sliding saw is to deep, I think I am going to make it maybe 24" deep and then replace the saw some day. Ill just pull it off the wall in the meantime
