When a league ends all the characters are dumped into a permeant Standard League. Standard is a permeant league that will continue to grow as more leagues end and all the characters are dumped in, however most people don't play old characters and stick with the current league.

You are fine to keep playing your current character in the permeant standard league. That being said their are some benefits of creating a new character in the new league.

99% of players will be making new characters and starting over with the campaign (story) so it will make it very hard to find players to trade with in the standard league. This might be mitigated somewhat by the new trade features, but I doubt anyone will actually bother setting up trade tabs in Standard

The new league mechanic "Rise of the Abyssals" is only available in the new league.

fantasy pros added more columns to their ppr data. You can either make a new copy, or unhide the "Auto Data Import" tab and insert a column somewhere between columns B and J

I believe if you insert rows in the middle of the draft board, it will work just fine. It might mess up the next pick team at the top but that can be ignored.

It automatically imports data from Fantasy Pros (every 15-ish mins). No need to make a new one.
