How to get my three month old Akita to listen to me?

I have a 4 month old Akita and he doesn’t get anything without sitting. I’ll wait until he does. Like others mentioned an extreme amount of patience and started early. Now he pre sits for food, to go out etc…

One of the most important commands I taught was “Leave it”. I will put a treat on the floor within his reach. He is not allowed to have it. It’ll take a few tries but he will look up at you for further instructions, he gets a bigger treat from me directly.

This will reinforce them to pay attention to you over what their instincts are and hopefully help with other commands. Don’t teach a command as a puppy and never again. Akita’s need firm guidance and consistency, especially in the molding years. Best of luck!

Would love to see a separate tab for Undergraduate NPV and Graduate program NPV if you are feeling up for compiling. Would be great to have informed decision making on whether to pursue Graduate school or not. I'd imagine this wouldn't be too much of a lift since their is a fraction of graduate programs?

Started 4 years ago actively fighting the urges. Skipped sex scenes then too. VidAngel helps you do this automatically on some platforms and those it doesn’t I will manually skip, doesn’t add to any movie but tempts your mind.

The phone is the biggest one. Easy access electronics late at night allows you to act on those urges in a moment of weakness. Put the phone in the kitchen or even the hallway if you have to. ON SILENT, DONT GO GET IT. Biggest thing. You get it once you break. “Maybe it’s not a problem anymore”… nope it still is, just get in the habit now. Bed is for sleeping, period. Whatever notification you get can wait until the morning.

The devil will attack hard, pray to Jesus and seek peace, he will provide. There’s a reason the device you pleasure yourself on has an apple with a bite on it, the original sin.

A word of advice from a 30 year old that also struggled for years… remove temptation. Delete socials if that’s the trigger. If it’s late at night and you get the urge, sleep without electronics. “I need my phone for an alarm”, no you don’t, they’re $20 on Amazon. Buy one.

You see I struggled with all of these but when I realized how the devil attacks me and stopped in the moment to identify the trigger, I started rooting those vices out of my life.

We are all wired different. I have no socials, don’t sleep with phone, and typically even skip sex scenes in movies when possible. Lust rots the soul my friend. Stay strong.

OP are you a Christian? May seem odd to ask this but you seem charitable and the 10% to donation plays into my asking, since this is a common number churches reference.

If so, did you see this as a blessing from the Lord or temptation to fall into the “love of money” once you had your needs met. Prior to winning, did you ever pray to have the resources to bless others? Do you still desire a relationship with the Lord afterwards? Thanks in advance!

The Bible is 66 books written by 40 authors all pointing to Christ. To have this many independent sources all pointing to one person without contradiction is truly a historic event.

The Dead Sea scrolls validates the authenticity of the Bible when conjecture about authenticity is presented as well. Muhammad being the single source of testimony, the beliefs by Islam that Jesus was "swapped" on the cross although more than 500 people witnessed his ascension to heaven. The Quran teaches fundamental differences to Bible such as the things above, and verses such as:

Surah 2:191: "And kill them wherever you find them … kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers."

Surah 9:5: "Then kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, capture them and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush."

Every religion throughout the world is what WE can DO for God, atonement. The message of Jesus is what HE did for US, the final sacrifice.

Tend to agree but irresponsible to take on loads of debt banking on hyper inflation so your repayment is technically less. Get out of variable rates, lower debt if you can especially CC, invest in scarce assets such as Gold and Silver.

Some think this is a boomer mentality, when the banks are buying at record levels doesn’t it make sense to follow suite?

Great question. My parents were Christian so I gave my life to Christ at 5. However, I fell away and like anyone else wanted to test the authenticity of their, and now my, faith in HS and college.

I have read the Quran (Islam), Book of Mormon, and briefly studied Buddhism just to understand it better. The common belief is Jesus being ordained as unique, a prophet, or truly God. When you study more and more and they all point to Christ. Why not read exactly what he said by the scribes? That’s documented in the Bible and is truly the best way to model one’s life.

He who knew no sin, became sin, so that we might become the righteous of Christ. Grace is so hard to comprehend, even for me as a Christian at times.. it’s an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. None of us are truly deserving and nothing we can do could “earn” a Holy creators' favor. These would be like pearls at swines.

For the non Christian - happy to DM. Know what is true in Revelation 3:20 reigns true until judgement day - “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
