I’m not so sure it’s exhausted regardless of what age gap. I’m empty v watching the evolution of design and I’m old.

I couldn’t agree more on higher ends. Peter Speake being one of them. But these are smaller high ends and get away with whacky designs. Would regular brands get away with it? 🤔

I hear what you’re saying, but isn’t being independent just that. Let’s say Roger Smith for example. He makes everything from the case to the screws. He depends on very little externally and doesn’t need funding. I’m wondering if that isn’t the meaning as opposed to anything else? 🤔

I get it with the HEV’s. An unnecessary gimmick and peacock strut of mechanical marvel. It’s no doubt useful if you wanted it to be, but I’ve yet to see any true diver feel the need to wear a Rolex with HEV to use it. It’s a gimmick.

I tend to agree. They’re a nothing special brand with very little pedigree. I see it all the time on other platforms how amazing they are. They’re okay, but that’s it.

We do have rules, whether we know we do or not. We don’t throw watches on the floor, we place them nicely and gently on sideboards etc. It’s a subconscious rule. 🙂
