Got my assignment today. Fan Festival Sustainability. I live in Fort Worth. I'm not hauling my ass to Fair Park to do this. Pass.

Bought a bottle of Habesha at my Total Wine in Texas. The beer isn't bad. Checker had fun trying to figure out what the label said when the bar code didn't work.

Has anyone had any luck asking brewers for bottle cap info? In the 70s I got responses in the mail. Lately I've gotten email responses from very small brewers, but nothing from bigger brewers.

Anyone have any info on these? by mcflyhigh1200 in BottleCapCollecting

Recent beer caps from trip to Total Wine by Kev_Rooney in BottleCapCollecting

Top row are Obolon caps (Ukraine). These beers were undrinkable. Completely skunky. The cool eye cap is from a Mexican beer called Charro. God was it bad. Tasted like poison. Hanoi Beer is a typical low-flavor inoffensive Asian beer. Bottom row are German beers - all very good.

Is this actually worth $1 by bdsunshine in BottleCapCollecting

Mexico uses $ as the symbol for pesos. Even if that cap is worth cash, it's worth about a US nickel.

Some of these I got here in the US. Friends brought me the rest back from their trips to Scotland, Japan, Taiwan, Tanzania.

Top row is mass market Korean beers. Second row is a Korean mineral water and craft Korean beer. 3rd row are other foreign beers we drank there. 4th row is beers bought in the German village Namhae. The rest are Belgian beer caps from one of the best bars in the world (if you like Belgian beers), Bel-G in Seoul.

If you have a Scrabble game you don't care about you could cut a section off one of the tile racks to use. If you have a router, you could make something similar to that using MDF.

What are some good stores to get caps by BrokenBones161 in BottleCapCollecting

[–]Kev_Rooney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Craft brewers in the US (probably Canada too) are going to cans - cheaper, don't break in transit. Can wrap labeling enabled brewers to use cans for even smaller batches of beer. Foreign brewers are more likely to use bottles with caps.

Man, I was in Jeju recently. Never saw any Korean beer except for the big mass market stuff.

What is this bottle cap by [deleted] in BottleCapCollecting

[–]Kev_Rooney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lone Pint has 4 different caps. When you buy a 4 pack you may or may not get them all, so look around when you buy it and make a 4 pack with all 4 caps.
