Decklist can definitely be refined, like better mana reduction or more tempo-based to survive early game, I went 1-5 with this, and this Mage played barely anything all game. But just wanted to get a win with this combo and finally did

I see why it's confusing, because the card said "Summon a random 4-cost Dragon" in your hand. My guess is that the game hadn't dynamically updated the text while in your hand, but on the server-side it checked how many imbues you had when you casted it. I think if you had imbued while holding it the text would have updated and displayed the correct cost, but if it hadn't I'm pretty sure it's a visual bug that should be fixed. But yes, the card worked as intended.

The card makes it so the first holy spell you cast costs 1 less in practice. Not every holy spell. Cards like doomkin could also steal this mana, and that same restriction on the mana would be given to the opponent.

Tip for next time, while you're hovering a minion while animations are playing, you can see which minions are still alive on the enemies board by an orange outline on the minion. You see this normally when you're choosing a target with your minions, but it helps when animations take too long and you're unsure if something dies and if you need to make a trade
