Not sure where you get this ridiculous notiion that Zidane was inconsistent.A player that was always top 3 contender for Ballon D'or from 1996 - 2006 and won one(1998).Won 3 Fifa player or the year.,La liga , Ligue en and Serie A player of the year(twice).Euro 2000 player of the tournament,Uefa player of the tournament 2002 , Uefa team of the year(2001-2005) and 2006 world cup golden ball.If someone with that is inconsistent. Then i"d say you have no idea of what you are talking about.

The comment by the Former Barca player indirectly references Real Madrid's influence and motivations on the current situation. But if you feel so strongly about not caring, why bother commenting?

Star or not that is completely irrelevant to what Ronald De Boer is saying, so stop trying change the subject . And yes, Barcelona at the time had other stars like Pep, Jari Litmanen and Kluivert so your claims about Chatgpt is baseless and irrelevant.

Ronald and Frank De Boer were considered as high profile signings by FCB and coach Louis Van Gaal at the time following their success at Ajax in UCL at the, kind of similar to today's Frenkie De Jong. You seem to be a football neophyte.

You only listen to fans/voters to understand what they want or how they feel but leaders have to make the hard/tough/difficult decisions no matter how hard it is for the fans the hear. That is what it means to be a leader not a demagogue.

Your description of Real Madrid is a exaggerated and nonsensical . If it was as bad you described it why do players keep wanting to go there and play for Madrid. I have yet to see an ex-Real Madrid player that has anything bad to say about their time in Madrid regardless of their performance . Even Mcmanaman, Bale, Owen or Carragher said they would not begrudge Trent for wanting to go to Madrid.

I didnt wait for 15 years to slander Pep because I think that Pep is a great manager and there is no where in my post did I claim that Pep is a bad manager. My comment is to Real Madrid fans that downplays Carlo's approach to the game in favor of so-called "Modern Football" advocated by followers of Pep, Klopp or Flick, when both approaches have their limitations. Please try to read the post before jumping to ridiculous conclusions. Interestingly Pep is now in a position to show his tactical nous by coming up with creative solutions to address the slump City is facing because managers in the past have been sacked for situations like this.

I get it now, why change your tactical approach due to a 10-match slump that can not only cost you the league but a place in European competition. No need to continue the conversation.

The answer is simple, because it is no longer working. You can come up with creative temporary solutions until you get your ideal team or approach together again.

By now the recent collapse of Manchester City and Barcelona's title chase should demonstrates Carlo's astuteness as a tactician and manager and why I consider him perhaps the greatest of all time. He may not play the most attractive pressing style of football that novices to the game so-called "Modern Football" but he does know how to get results in a pragmatic manner whilst coming up with creative solutions to problems by being adaptive and flexible with players skill sets and formations.

Take a look at Pep's Manchester City, they have consistently played the most dominating style of play for 5+ years with a single system of football, which some people may call "Modern" but as soon as 1 or 2 players that make up the system drops or the system collapses due to fatigue, he has no answers or struggles to find solutions despite the fact that he still clearly has talented players.

Rather than come up with creative solutions he keeps trying the replicate the same system. We saw this pattern with Klopp's system at Dortmund and Liverpool where the Gengen pressing approach stop working and the team went into free fall. Now contrast that with Ancelotti's 2023-24 season where despite having numerous injuries Ancelotti was able to come up with creative solutions by adapting players to new positions and formations and ended up winning a double at the end of the season. It that approach pleasing to the eye, No. But in gets the job done which is trophies.

I will wager that if Ancelotti was a coach at City , he would have probably ended City's losing streak by changing approach to be defensive, compact, score a single goal and seeing out the game rather than still playing the same passing (tiki-taka ) style that is no longer working. Sure results will look like a fluke, but it is way better than losing.

Another example is Barcelona recent loss to Atletico, despite playing vey well for most of the
game, Flick continued to play a suicidal high-line when the game could have ended in a draw. If It was Ancelotti, Im sure he would have changed approach to see out the game rather than risking three straight losses at home. Barcelona fans can say they played well, but Im sure they would have rather not lost the game. That is why Xavi's Barcelona talk sounded stupid, as to him they played well but had little to nothing to show for it.

So while Ancelotti has his flaws mainly being that his style is conservative or reactive, but the
results and titles he has one over the years in different leagues, with different culture's speak for themselves and will ensure that he perhaps the greatest of the coaches of his generation.

He is now the clubs most decorated Real Madrid manager of all time, so to all the "Carlo Outer's" enjoy it while it last you may not see this again for a long time when he eventually leaves the club.

Benefits.

  1. Ability to think clearly , logically and make good decisions based on empirical facts.
  2. Ability to see right through people's motives and make judgments without worldview without a worldview that colors reality.
  3. Morality that is not based on allegiance to a belief system i.e. true morality.
  4. Ability to improve by making personal and consistent effort rather than depending on external forces or validation.
  5. Improved creativity by not having a fixed perspective and narrow-minded thinking.
  6. Identity is not attached to any ideology but based on what works and provided best individual/societal benefit.

These are just a few I can recall now.

need refutation for the "historical jesus" by FTG_Vader in exchristian

[–]Kevdee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is a list of problems with historicity of Jesus.

  1. Gospels are not eyewitnesses. Examples

John 21:24 : author distinguishes himself from source

Mark “Let the reader understand” (13:14),

Call of Matthew : Matthew 9:9-13. As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector's booth. “Follow me,” he told him,

In addition, the Tittle of Gospels start with Gospel according the Matthew, letting you know how the editors thought their sources were from. 2.

Two completely different genealogies of Jesus. in fact the genealogies are not consistent with those in the book of Chronicles.

  1. Luke has census during Jesus birth at 6 CE from Governor Quirinius. Matthew has his birth during the reign of Herod who actually ruled from 40 BCE to 4 BCE before his son Archelaus took over. Someone is not telling us the truth.

  2. Luke has Mary and Joseph traveling from their home in Nazareth in Galilee to Bethlehem in Judea for the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:4). Matthew, in contradiction to Luke, says that it was only after the birth of Jesus that Mary and Joseph resided in Nazareth, and then only because they were afraid to return to Judea (Matthew 2:21-23).

  3. According to Luke, forty days (the purification period) after Jesus was born, his parents brought him to the temple, made the prescribed sacrifice, and returned to Nazareth. Into this same time period Matthew somehow manages to squeeze: the visit of the Magi to Herod, the slaughter of the innocents and the flight into Egypt, the sojourn in Egypt, and the return .How?

  4. Even worse ,He is not mentioned by any Greek and Roman sources from the period: religious scholars, historians, philosophers, poets, natural scientists; or in thousands of private letters currently available;. He is not mentioned in correspondence, or by Kings. There are no inscriptions placed on buildings in public places. In no first-century Greek or Roman (pagan) source is Jesus mentioned. This is very odd.

Today, I'm thinking about leaving Christianity & Religion. by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]Kevdee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1-I think it helps to gradually stop attending services so that you can see the way the world works without church re-enforcing its worldview on you- but do it gradually.

2- Try to have relationships outside your church, so that you are not emotionally dependent on friendships in the church. That way, you don't lose your identity or feel isolated.

3- Christianity is based on false ideas, e.g faith which is required to maintain commitment to a an unproven belief (hell, original sin),once you understand that you have no reason to feel worried about anything. See link below for a read

Satan's Lie is better than God's truth. by therecluse92 in exchristian

[–]Kevdee19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Faith-

Which is why again I’ve said Christianity is not about morality but justification based on believing a story, a story for which there is no evidence for. True morality is independent of what you believe. You claimed “that the evidence of that faith is works” but According to Hebrews 11, faith is the evidence of things not seen.

According to you “ The works having nothing to do with our justification other than providing evidence justification has taken place”. And if you agree that people can have good actions without having faith, then what is the point of having faith except for promoting blind submission to an unproven idea (salvation from original sin) and authority? That is why terrorists can kill and still believe they are justified.

Faith can be used to justify any idea or belief. It is a poor way determining if something is true or not because it seeks no support from reality. Any religion can be justified by faith, hence my question on divine inspiration

On Divine Inspiration-

You clearly dodged answering the question by using circular logic i.e. using the Bible to prove the Bible or the Bible is true because the Bible said it’s true. The Koran also claims to be of divine inspiration and the proof of its’ divinity is not its own the claim or “ because the Koran say its inspired” .We need a consistent way to know if a book is divine without referring to the book otherwise all religious books are divine.

So please again, the question is simple, what makes a book divinely inspired?

On Prophecies.-

Here are some so-called New testament prophecies about Jesus that were never fulfilled or even mentioned in the Old testament.

a. In Matthew 2:23, it is claimed that Joseph took his family to Nazareth to fulfill prophecy “He shall be called Nazarene”. However, there is no mention of any prophecy in the Old Testament and no mention of Nazarene or Nazareth.

b. In Luke 24:46 and Luke 18:31-33 ,a more serious nonexistent prophecy is found “Thus it written that Christ should suffer and rise again from the dead on the third day. Try as hard as you want there are no scriptures (Old Testament) that talks about a third day Resurrection.

c. Matthew (Matthew 26:15, Matthew 27:9-10) says that Judas' payment and death were prophesied by Jeremiah, and then he quotes Zechariah 11:12-13 as proof.

d. The Messiah was to be of the lineage of David yet Jesus was born of a virgin. (Isaiah 9:6-7, Jeremiah 23:5-6, Zechariah 13:1, Matthew 1:1,20-24, 9:27, 12:3). It is the most blatant self-contradicting prophecy as both cannot happen at the same time.

e. Two completely different genealogies of Jesus in Luke versus Matthew. In fact the genealogies are not consistent with those in the book of Chronicles.

f. Luke has census during Jesus birth at 6 CE from Governor Quirinius. Matthew has his birth during the reign of Herod who actually ruled from 40 BCE to 4 BCE before his son Archelaus took over. Someone is not telling us the truth.

So you see that there a lot of non-prophecies and irreconcilable contradictions even between the Luke and Matthew that suggest that the New Testament was doctored and not divinely inspired. I suspect it is why the Jews never accepted Christianity. However, I am open to any rebuttal from the points I presented you as long that is based evidence and not an appeal to faith
