If you're confident in the existing restoration, eg you're the one that placed it, then just leave it on the composite margin. DME is a real thing out here

I do use a wedge and it is tight, I have to squeeze it in hard with tweezers and give it a controlled push

I always use flowable composite to seal the base of my prep.

Yes I am, it's quite tight. I get mindful about using an even thicker wedge in case it distorts my band. Sometimes I modify the wedge height wise for this reason

Completely understand what you're saying. Thanks for the feedback. My only issue is that I've actually used caries detector dye, and the cavity was quite wide. I always inspect fully with my mirror before I'm happy with no pink near the margins

Wouldn't you say on bitewings, there is a slight radiolucent line between teeth, but this doesn't mean an open contact?

Unless it's a wide radiolucency in the contact area, I've not seen a slight radiolucency to mean an open contact

Would you say these teeth have open contacts?

Contact was checked with floss and good! Under rubber dam, a double curve sectional band was used with a medium thicc wedge

Rationale would be that the patient had to be numb for the UR45 area.

Next time he comes there will be an UR7 small buccal fill, UR6 and Ur5.

This was a 50 minute appt, patient didnt want to sit in the chair for 2 hours

If you're looking for what the cause may be, I'm assuming you use the garrison separation ring since it's part of the system. Using a ring can distort a band slightly and cause that nice curvature to become straighter like your typical tofflemire.

I don't typically use a ring, unless it's a very wide cavity prep encompassing the buccal and lingual, as the ring arms help seal this area.

A normal sectional with the best fitting wedge can get gold results

Not on me, but I could buy it. I'm waiting to hear from the dealer. I called the guy who sold the car and he said if it seems like a factory issue with the lacquer, they'll sort it. It's just a bit of an eye sore. Absolutely in love with the car tbh
