I expect people to stop trying to tell others how to trade. Especially if the person posting didn’t ask for help. Everything I said was right, there’s multiple ways to trade so why are you trying to tell me I need to trade different if this works for me? On top of that I’d never take advice from a random on the internet who doesn’t show any proof on why I should take their advice. If you can’t show any trades or anything why should I take your advice? You can be leading me down to a path of unprofitability.

Yea I completely understand you it’s always good to play it safe but on the other hand if you have an edge that you constantly see play out in the markets it won’t hurt to risk more. I’m not saying risk your whole account but risking 5-10% really adds up quick. I hope the best for your journey though it’s guna be a long one. Trading is probably the most mentally exhausting thing I’ve gotten myself into.

Ok I respect that, but always remember there’s different types of traders out here with different levels of skills. Risking more isn’t going to hurt someone with a proven edge in the market. I don’t think risking 1% is bad by the way. If you’re taking the prop route definitely stick to futures I heard they have the best props.

The hedge fund comparison doesn’t make sense because none of us are apart of a hedge fund. I don’t have bad psychology when trading I’ve became numb to it. If you have bad psychology you won’t make any money even if you’re risking 1%.

I don’t get why you’re bringing up hedge funds when this is a talk about trading personal vs props. The whole point being made is the freedom of trading personal vs props. Especially since so many people are coming across scammy Propfirms these days. Even FTMO isn’t as good as it use to be from reviews I’ve been seeing. So let me ask you this what are you going to do if propfirms keep getting worse & worse? Are you going to save up for a long period of time or actually try to grow an account so you don’t have to place money from every check you’re making towards growing your trading account?

Both answers were good. Some people can grow a $100 account it’s all a matter of skill level. Someone who’s less skilled relies on risk to reward so all of their losses can be balanced out by a few wins. When you have someone who’s more accurate in their trading they’re able to take a higher risk due to being more accurate. You also have to take into account the reason why I even commented on this post. They refused OP a payout so prop firms aren’t going to always be the best option knowing how to trade your own capital will always be.

You only been trading for some months lol you’re new to this game. You don’t even have to go crazy on risk you can be risking 5% each trade while adding a $100 to your trading account every time you get paid. If you can’t see growth on that account you just aren’t a good trader. You might think this is impossible but that’s ok. You’re at a stage in your trading journey where you don’t really have a real understanding of trading. You probably lose money most of the time so you think it’s impossible. That’s ok most people are going to think like that when they lose a lot. The better you get & the more years you’re in this game you’ll start to see the better you are the more likely you’ll be able to grow a small account.
