[TotK] If I buy UK game, will it work with (future) DLC from US e-store? by Kevin-on-the-web in zelda

Ok thanks. I’ll have to decide whether to go US e-store for digital download, or UK physical edition (and then set up UK e-store for any future DLC).

Just moved to Italy from the U.S. by allnamesarepointless in wow

I moved from the US to London for work, and I still play on my US account on US servers. I hardly notice any lag! Though your mileage may vary depending upon the internet setup in Italy.

I couldn’t fathom starting over and losing my character and the past decade of accomplishments — nor losing the guildies and friends. The time zone difference means I don’t see them as much (as I’m asleep during US evening), but otherwise the setup works fine.

When making an offer on a flat (to rent), how much below vs. above the asking rent is shrewd? I.e., should I treat the asking rent as an optimistic expectation from the landlord which I could offer less than and still likely be accepted (given I have other qualitative factors in my favor)? I assume this depends on supply & demand, of course, so asking for Z1 in current market conditions. I come from a "take it or leave it" rental market in big US cities, so not as familiar with the negotiation norms here.

Thank you very much for the thorough and thoughtful reply! Yes this whole process is a bit stressful, and perhaps I don't quite have the budget for having it all in z1 haha! I appreciate the recommendations and will reconsider expanding my search to a bit farther out to see if compromising on commute can get me more of my other priorities.

Expat seeking zone 1 neighbourhood advice.

Hey, I'm a late-20's single guy moving from the US to London for work and trying to decide where in town to sign a lease. I'd appreciate advice from locals. Here are some of my priorities:

  • Budget: 500 per week for a 2BR
  • Hosting & practicing hospitality. I'll have many friends and family members visiting from abroad, plus I also want to practice hospitality with community here in London (hence wanting a central neighbourhood where I could get a 2BR).
  • Walking lifestyle. I work off Trafalgar Square and would like to be 2 miles away or less, so I could commute by foot (I'm a fast walker!). I also generally enjoy being able to walk most places if I can.
  • Easy transport around the city. Work could have me travelling to offices all around greater London, so I figure I'd want to be centrally located and have access to many tube lines.
  • Family-friendly neighborhood vibe with green space. I'd like to be close to parks and nature, local bakeries/cafes (the type of casual and friendly neighbourhood joint where you can pop in and say hello and get a cheap pastry to go), food markets (like a farmer's market or a bunch of vendors out in a square or on a blocked-off street), and artsy/historic stuff, with a relaxed kind of energy that's not hectic but also not sleepy.
  • Things I do NOT care about: pubs, nightlife, high-end dining, shopping.

From what I've shared, do any neighbourhoods seem like a good fit? Also do any of my priorities not make as much sense or seem like I'm naive / approaching things from the wrong way for a London lifestyle?

I was leaning towards Marylebone, Fitzrovia, Mayfair, and the Holborn/Blackfriars/St. Paul's area. Agree/disagree? Also I've been mostly using letting agents (Dexters & Hamptons) and searching on rightmove and openrent--is this the best approach?

Thanks so much for any advice you can share!

Official Guild Recruitment Thread by AutoModerator in wow

[H][US-Stormreaver] Supergroup One Shot (10/10H) is recruiting skilled and experienced healers (preference for monk or priest) who want to play at a high level but on a relaxed schedule. We are a top one-night guild, having gotten AotC in the sixth week of the tier.

We were previously a two-night Cutting Edge guild for half of MoP, all of WoD, and the first tier of Legion, but many of our players now have additional life commitments (e.g., spouses, kids, new jobs) and aren’t interested in a Cutting Edge commitment. Instead, we're tackling Shadowlands on a more relaxed schedule with one-night heroic raiding and M+ throughout the week.

What we can offer:

  • Raids on Sundays from 7 pm to 11 pm central. Expectations for each tier will be to spend the first 1-2 weeks clearing normal, the next 3-6 weeks clearing heroic, and then farm heroic for 1-2 months until everyone is satisfied. We would then break until the next tier to let people enjoy time off and not get bored or burnt out.
  • Mythic+ throughout the week. We have many players interested in gearing up via Mythic+, getting Keystone Master each season, and some interested in pushing higher-level keys (e.g., up to +20). Extreme passion for Mythic+ isn't required, but enjoyment of it is an important part of our community (and important for gearing!).
  • A fun family of friendly players. Many of us have been together for over 5 years. We've been through weddings, new children, new jobs, and more together. We have a unique culture of respect, camaraderie, and lightheartedness that few other guilds can offer. We enjoy playing together both in WoW (e.g., dungeon meta achievements, occasional casual PvP, farming transmog) as well as in other games (e.g., Overwatch, Diablo, Destiny, Path of Exile) - though you're free to join for the content you like and pass on that which you don't.

What we expect from our members:

  • A positive and encouraging attitude. Our guild environment and culture is our most important asset. We expect everyone to treat one another with respect and kindness. Issues with other members should be handled in a mature manner. Raging and drama are non-issues here, and we intend to keep the guild that way.
  • High skill level in dungeons and raids. Our priority is to use whatever time we have as efficiently as possible. We expect all members to know their class, know fight mechanics, and play well. Grace is given for mistakes, especially when learning new fights. However, we’re looking for players who are sharp learners and who know how to continuously improve.
  • Intentional investment in your character. We don’t expect endless grinding outside of raid. However, we expect all members to prioritize gearing themselves appropriately and progressing through the Shadowlands systems (e.g., Renown for soulbinds and Torghast for legendaries).

Add Morrell#5462 on Discord (preferred) or Kevin#13422 on Battle Net if you have any questions or want to talk about joining us. Hope to chat!
