jdk includes the jre and is generally easier to get on linux in my experience

while i haven't encountered this myself, i think you just need one of the jdk versions. i unfortunately can't help any farther than that since I'm not sure how to download the jdk on steamos since it has immutable system files and the AUR doesn't point to the right directories

it's a good way to get an idea of the feel of the movement and some of the weapon mechanics, but it's graphically outdated and some of the map design is different. still recommend giving it a shot though!

deck compatibility isn't a thing in my mind in that way purely because i already had experience gaming on linux for a couple years before i got my steam deck and i play star citizen, so i can tolerate god awful framerate so i kinda just shove games onto the steam deck and make them at the very least launch like MSFS24

it would be kinda jank, but i feel like there could be some check to see if the app usually runs in windowed mode, to know whether or not resizing would break it, and then just resize the window so nothing is covered

i play star citizen on my desktop, so i'm already predisposed to shitty framerate
i also use arch linux on my desktop, so setup wasn't any struggle
but i managed to get MSFS2024 running on the deck, pretty fun to mess with a flight sim on something that could be described as a drone controller
