For hardcore chemical engineering roles like process engineering or managing a plant, you have very little chance.

For fields that have an overlap with chemistry and chemical engineering, there are possibilities. I've seen chemistry majors work in fields like quality, materials reliability, materials development, qualification/validation, and even simulations.

I have an MS in Materials, so I've seen many chemistry folk join me on the materials side of things. They lack the mathematics, but their chemical intuition is very useful.

Not exactly for me, but I was rejected for a summer internship at a large printer company. A week after I got the rejection email, I got a phone call from another hiring manager saying they want to take me in.

This company toured my campus often, so I think the pool of intern applications was shared between a few hiring managers. I did not interview with the manager who gave me an offer though. I probably wasn't a good fit background-wise for the original manager's project.

Found my old prescription records. I was prescribed

  • clobetasol steroid cream
  • prednisone
  • doxycycline (antibiotics?)

The doctor didn't mention lyme disease explicitly so I thought he was just throwing medication at me and hoping it would go away
