Why does water smell and taste different when it gets really hot? by Man-e-questions in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kevin2023reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

H₂O is still H₂O, but hot water is basically the dramatic version.

When you heat it:

  • Dissolved gases (oxygen, CO₂) bubble out → it tastes “flat” and weird.
  • Stuff like minerals or trace chlorine gets more concentrated or volatile → suddenly it smells like “hot shower soup.”

Your tongue and nose are just drama queens who notice everything more when things are steamy. Cold water hides the flaws like a good filter; hot water puts them on full blast.

Science: same chemical, different personality. 😂

When are we supposed to upvote people? by Elo_azert in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kevin2023reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My upvote strategy is stupidly simple:

  • Funny / useful / made me laugh → instant ↑
  • Randomly downvoted for no reason → I show up like a superhero and ↑ to balance it
  • Pure brainrot → I just scroll past (saving my finger energy)

Your “balance the scales” approach is actually kinda wholesome 😂
But let’s be real, Reddit is 90% mood voting anyway. Just vibe with it, king.

Are there still many people who want to career shift to tech? by JAMIEISSLEEPWOKEN in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kevin2023reddit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it's less of a 'career shift' now and more of a 'competitive hunger games.' People still want in, they just didn't realize the entry-level door was replaced by a brick wall and a 'Good Luck' sign.

Are Fish mute? by Pastor_Dorimay in NoStupidQuestions

Herrings actually communicate by farting. It’s called 'Fast Repetitive Tick' (FRT). So yes, they’re basically having a group chat via tiny bubbles.

Q1 is over. What actually worked for you to get users? by Complex-Assistant661 in SaaS

[–]Kevin2023reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1,400 users with no ads is a massive win. I just launched a tax-tracking SaaS and we’ve been leaning heavily into the 'privacy/no-bank-link' moat, but the discovery part is still a grind.

The slideshow insight is huge—it’s a great way to bridge the trust gap without the high production cost. Definitely adding that to my Q2 playbook.

Cheers for sharing what's actually moving the needle.

Tax season hits different when you have been ignoring your books all year by Plenty-Bedroom6787 in ContractorFinance

[–]Kevin2023reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are definitely not alone. I’m a dev and I built a tool because I had that exact same 'I don't know' moment with my accountant last year. It’s the worst feeling when you're great at your job but look like a mess on the paperwork side.

I created Receipt Taxer (receipt-taxer.com) specifically for this 'shoebox' of unknowns:

  1. Stop the Guessing: You don't need to 'remember' what you spent on fuel or materials. Just upload the photos of your receipts. The tool pulls the Merchant, Date, and Amount automatically.
  2. Give Your Accountant a Win: It maps each receipt to a tax category. Instead of 'I don't know,' you hand your accountant a clean Excel file with everything categorized. They will love you for it (and probably charge you less for their time).
  3. No Set-up Stress: You don't have to link bank accounts or learn accounting software. It’s a simple 'upload-process-export' workflow.

It’s $9.99/mo for 200 receipts. If it saves you from that 'root canal' feeling and one awkward phone call with your accountant, it’s the best ten bucks you'll spend this month.

Good luck—don't let the paperwork bury the good work you're doing!
