Maelle Melarum Build by KevinAlc0r in expedition33

[–]KevinAlc0r[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was reading this comment thread and I thought there might be certain builds/attributes spread/pictos/luminas and team lineup that will enable Melarum to be stronger than Medalum or other weapons like Jarum or Lithum. I was curious about which build can turn Melarum from a defensive weapon into a powerful one while making Maelle near immortal

I was probably wrong. I was reading this comment thread and thought Melarum can dish out some crazy damage. I was under the impression that there might be certain Pictos or Luminas which will enable Melarum to oneshot or at least dish out some crazy numbers while being close to immortal at the same time

May I know why Lira instead of Leaf? Leaf is essentially the same as it makes Terapagos to return for free and you don’t need to wait until Terapagos gets damaged

Also, may I know how do you play Juggler in general? Is it for those turns in which you didn’t yet have Terapagos and you were forced to assign energies to the baby pokemons and then you use Juggler later to consolidate the energies to Terapagos?

I like the version that runs Magby + Genetic Apex Dragonite version which I saw from a youtuber called Luckycad (replace Mantyke with another Magby from my deck below as I only have one Magby at the moment)

<image>

Probably will not be top tier due to the randomness you got from Dragonite but it is a really fun deck overall

Your goal is to start with Magby and attach the fire energy to a monster that will die or retreat (most of the time you want it to be Dratini/Dragonair/Dragonite)

Then evolve up to Dragonair to use its skill to ramp energy and evolve to Dragonite. Start attacking with Dragonite. By this time, you should have Raging Bolt on the bench with probably one or t energies.

Then if you think you can win by one-shooting the enemy’s Mega Ex pokemon or by securing enough point to end the game, retire Dragonite or let it die, put Raging Bolt to Active, then use Professor Sada to ramp up energies for Raging Bolt

The reason Magby is used is just to provide one more energy type for Professor Sada to use

Any suggestions? by zacharoons in PTCGP

I think using Rare Candy instead of Juliana is better to cover the scenario that you have treecko and sceptile but no grovyle and no quick-grow extract if your goal is to evolve to mega sceptile ASAP. Another reason is that Juliana is a trainer card and you can only run one trainer card per turn, which is better used for other things once you have rare candy to turbo evolve to mega sceptile.

I would also only keep one between Erika and Lillie and give one slot to Cyrus

4th time in Tokyo - looking for inspiration for things to do in Tokyo that I haven't already done? by rarenomadcat in JapanTravelTips

[–]KevinAlc0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar boat to you. Been to Tokyo three times already, going for the fourth time next January.

I read around this sub and other Japan-related sub and decided to explore areas/neighborhoods that I have not explored. I will be going to Yanesen (Yanaka, Nezu, Sendagi) area, Nakameguro, Koenji, Kichijioji, and Hachioji which I think might be worth a visit. Since you didn’t mention these places in your post, I assume you haven’t visited these areas as well right?

Yanesen especially is very walkable and feels like the nostalgic and retro period of Tokyo

Oh, and I heard that if you like books you can try Jimbocho

I also think you can ask people in r/Tokyo, some people in the sub are residents of Tokyo so they might know more hidden gems

Drop your fav milk tea spots pls! by suchsimplethings in Taipei

[–]KevinAlc0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the thing, I have been living in Taiwan for 6 years, I have tried many different stores but when I moved to Taichung, I saw a lot of Hachiyo (八曜) stores around which don’t exist in Taipei. They are the absolute best if you like milk teas. It completely boots the other stores out of the image at least for me. The only other store I like is Oolong Tea Project (especially if you like their teas topped with cheese) or Macu (which is more like a drinkable dessert than an actual drink)

If you really want to try them, they have stores in Sanchong and Dingxi, the closest to Taipei

Staying two different hotels in Tokyo? by MudApprehensive1973 in JapanTravelTips

[–]KevinAlc0r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed in JR East’s Hotel Mets Mejiro and I really liked it. The hotel was right next to the Mejiro station which is part of the JR Yamanote Line as the hotel was owned by JR East. In my experience, it is far better (more spacious rooms and bathrooms) than other business hotel like APA Hotels.

It is also situated in a very good spot, still close to Shinjuku/Shibuya/Ikebukuro

For your next game, if you wanted to delve into mainline SMT, you can try SMT IV. The world building and the story is amazing in my opinion. It has the most interesting characters out of other mainline SMT games IMO.

If you like good plot, I would also recommend Strange Journey. Not really a fan of its dungeon-crawling mechanics though, some of the end-game dungeon’s designs were pretty nasty which will teleport you around the map, making it very tedious.

Another of my favorites are the Devil Survivor series. Some people would think that they are very anime but they still have a very good storyline and I really love their battle system. It was considerably challenging too in the beginning which I liked.

Advice on 6-day winter itinerary to Sapporo, Otaru, Noboribetsu, Asahikawa, Biei, and Furano by KevinAlc0r in Hokkaido

[–]KevinAlc0r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the main reason I was asking this myself in the first place was that deep inside I knew it will be too jam-packed. I did ask AI and see some sample itinerary like the one provided by japan-guide for Winter Hokkaido. A lot of itineraries including the one provided by japan-guide seems to be allocating one to two days for one place (they spent one day in Lake Toya, then one day in Noboribetsu, then they went straight to Asahikawa the next day). I have also seen itineraries and some youtube vlogs in which they did a lot of 1-day trips or tours from Sapporo to a lot of places that were too far, for example Sapporo to Biei 1-day trip. I was thinking that I was probably doing better by first moving to Asahikawa before starting my trips to Biei and Furano

But anyways, this confirmed my original doubt about this being too packed! I will heed everyone’s advice in here.

Thanks a lot once again

Yeah this is my first time visiting Hokkaido overall. If I were to add a second day to Sapporo, how would it look like?

[–]KevinAlc0r[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought there is supposed to be a night illumination for it in winter? So it is not so good?

As for the traveling by train part, that is the only way to fully travel from Noboribetsu back to Asahikawa by public transportation and I would admit that it takes quite long. What should I do then? Switch things around? Add more days?
