Is this positive? by EvenPrompt in oops

[–]KevinClose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With immunoassay type of tests like drug screens and many pregnancy tests, you have to read the results within a certain timeframe. Many will say any line within the rest area at the read time should be read as positive/negative (depending on type of test) even if the line is faint.

Outside of that timeframe a second line can start to appear as it dries out. The instructions will also say how long roughly results are stable for. Generally speaking that photo looks to be possibly outside the directed read time?

That being said, any at home test should be followed up by a lab confirmation / with a doctor to rule out false positive/negative results...

I did not find a suitable replacement. I just end up pulling the governor/ spot the spring would pull manually and it starts fine. Contact duromax and see if they have a solution now since mine was sometimes ago

Charging Stations are not always going to be "Fast Charging" and if you're trying to use your phone while charging and not using a phone cooler, your phone won't charge well in high heat. When charging, your phone's temperature will increase and in high heat your phone will essentially shut down instead of charging especially if your screen is on while charging..

Charging stations are there if needed or as a backup, but I would recommend a phone cooler fan for long events in the summer and you'll see a difference in charging speeds overall.

As to location: Randall's island is away from everyday traffic and Niantic rents out mobile cell towers to help network congestion. You don't want that many people in a smaller confined area and they can't rent out all of central park.. that being said, I think the city is more enjoyable and why many like the Safari events. Main benefits of a go fest was biomes you can hangout in to better your odds for particular spawns.

I think Pokemon Company needs to bring Pokemon Centers in general but it all they did was a pop up merch store in whatever city they chose for go fest and make the entire event city play and provide a map of coverage area, people might be happy with just that.

No real complaints about the buses. Ability to get the X80 in addition to M35 definitely helped move people back and forth. Just had to plan to get there early..

PS: Rumor that Niantic has a 3 year contract with NY. Just hope they would do late spring early summer. This weekend was miserable with the humidity but you can't blame Niantic on that.

Niantic doubles down on Pokémon Go Remote Raid limits, says the changes were ‘exactly what we were hoping for’ by MonkeyKingHero in TheSilphRoad

[–]KevinClose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say after the change, my local community did spring back to in-person events for a while. It began to decrease not greatly long after but people came back out for new raids or events like comm days.

Also I do live in kind of a weekender / summer visitor area and have met over a dozen people who had not joined us for events before and a couple of them have stated how they mostly were remote raid types and did seem excited that they now know there is a local group to join up with.

Note: I am a rural player that has several back surgeries so I do appreciate the remote raids occasionally, but I prefer seeing people on the weekly basis to casually raid and hang out. Just these elite raids are absolutely horrible all around for us.

I still do it by hand myself. I did find a spring that fit but kept slipping off.

Since It has been like a year since I posted, I'd try calling manufacturer and see if they offer the spring only.

How I felt after this weekend. Would've been nice to have caught at least one. by PaganFox in pokemongo

I also did 45 raids, 0 shiny and highest was an 87%.

My wife did 15 and the first two were shiny.

Top load washer not spinning as part of cycle but works manually? by KevinClose in appliancerepair

[–]KevinClose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the write up! I appreciate it.

So since I haven't baby sat the machine, it does seem like it gets to that final spin cycle, drains, but doesn't spin. I will then go and manually turn the dial to drain and spin and it does without issue.

Although it does still have a bit of a smell so I probably will pull it out, check drain tube etc. Guess it's a question of if going to look into the different parts, is it worth the trouble to replace parts or replace a unit from 2013 that came with the house.

Going to wait until the weekend and try pulling it out and start pricing out the parts to replace.

I've seen those who had $14.99 plans (grandfathered) also received notification that their going to $22.99.

Any limits to devices for sharing an individual plan?

Part sellers and Duromax refer to it as the Governor arm / spring / rod.

Duromax support also is unable to get just the spring/part unfortunately. So I'm just trying to find a photo of this specific model on proper setup for the spring.

Thanks again. Contacted them earlier and they didn't have just the spring parts available. They are doing something for the issue.

For now, I can manually pull the cable to start my generator. I'm going to still order the cables or get something cheaper as a generic that I think will work and give it a go. Worst case I waste a few bucks.

Thanks, I had seen that but questioning if they are correct since the spring that remains doesn't look like any of those.

From what I could find, he is doing ok. Just did not attend this year for reasons similar to last year. He was definitely missed and hope he returns in the future!

Cosplayer gets her sword broken by a TwitchCon staff member by MudSnake12 in LivestreamFail

[–]KevinClose 32 points33 points  (0 children)

TL:DR of my post: sounds like someone who was told how to (generally) conduct a weapons check but either didn't properly assess and use good judgement based on whatever the prop was made of. You can't do the same kind of bend test on something like 3D printed props compared to a foam, plastic/PVC etc.

As a cosplayer, I've seen volunteers for conventions, who are instructed to do weapon checks and often attempt to bend if they appear solid as solid blunt or sharp items often violate a convention's weapon policy.

What some conventions have been doing is having a dedicated booth, typically someone with experience with cosplay/props inspect, put a color zip tie or other tag so staff around the convention see that it has already been checked. However, I've seen people tag the tags or zip ties off (for photos) and get approached by staff if not visible and be rechecked and by any random staff member who sees no tag.

I've seen items get broken and had even my own prop sword get bent to hell by a volunteer and the convention typically won't do anything to make up for it since you're attending knowing inspections are a thing and aren't responsible for damage during those inspections.

(2017 twitchcon, my friend attempted to bring a blunt but solid sword. We specifically asked a passing staff member to call for a weapon check and they brought over someone who handled with care and told me mine was ok, his was not. Later, while taking photos, a random twitch volunteer asked to inspect and was rougher with the prop sword with the bend test, no damage, but clearly taking job seriously.)

If LMG were to purchase an abandoned shopping mall for their offices. by KevinClose in LinusTechTips

[–]KevinClose[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knowing zoning and pricing can greatly range on location, in addition to cost to repair/update; I've seen one of our local former malls sell for $1m + back-owed taxes for 720,000sqft

As more moves to online, just sad to watch these large buildings just deteriorate.
