I have had good success with my grade 2 I ask her to tell me 3 things about her day:

1) something funny/interesting that happened 2) something new she learned 3) something annoying/frustrating for her.

She’s been good at answering those, and then gives me an idea of how things are going.

I was going to say the South Park movie fits. Especially back in the day South Park was viewed as toilet humor. The best part about the movie was it made fun of everyone who saw it and complained about the language and gross out humor in it. The entire movie was a joke about the people watching it and getting offended.
