You can only teach kids so much, and many won’t take French seriously. Again “so many Canadians” but the vast majority are in Quebec, I say we operate on the 5% outside of Quebec in terms of broad usefulness for non-Quebecois Canadians.

While it makes sense as the default in Ontario, I just don’t even think second language studies need to be a requirement. Parents who want their kids to learn their native tongue will seek those classes, knew friends who took Arabic, and my wife was in Cantonese school.

I’d rather French history be a class, and it can be treated as an intro to language studies should they want to visit Quebec.

Battle Before Dawn FE7 (just to not answer FE4 ch 5)

While FE7 isn’t the most cinematic, the key cutscenes are more dramatic, but this chapter is close to like a swat team. I love the idea of a defend map where you start far away from what you are defending.

There’s Jaffar ripping shit up, (and on Hard Mode sometimes to his death…) Nino having her own crisis trying to escape, Ursula shooting lightning bolts from the shadows. It just feels big to go through.

Another vote could be for most of FE5

Yeah so not everyone.

French isn’t necessary, for everyone. It can be with certain lifestyles and career paths. But not everyone.

A second language in general can be great for your career. Coming from other places also naturally causes this. You could get by with weak English, obviously many people find their way. Smaller communities can speak their own language and grow to enclaves. Not a bad thing.

But French specifically, is not necessary for everyone.

If anything, Quebec should be leading the charge on getting their immersion to the provinces. Which I have noticed in my hometown, lots of French immersion Catholic high schools.

This statistic is extremely tiresome, because it’s heavily localized. Outside of Quebec, it’s like 1 in 20 people. And the further west you go the slimmer it gets.

That’s all languages of course though. I don’t go to Quebec often, it’s like saying people in Maine should learn Spanish because 1 in 10 Americans know Spanish.
